In front of Heisunaura Beach, an Onsen resort featuring a captivating grand panorama view from the open-air bath.

I was surprised to find someone waiting to welcome us at the entrance when we arrived by car. We were greeted by the scent of lilies, and while waiting our turn for check-in, my husband quickly started enjoying a beer. Our Room was on the 3rd floor and felt more spacious than expected. The tatami flooring made it very comfortable. The view from the window was wonderful, and we kept it open for a while just to enjoy it. The amenities were well stocked, and we didn’t feel any inconvenience. One thing I noticed was that there was quite a large step up into the in-room toilet, which made me a little worried about tripping if I got up during the night. What stood out most was the wide variety of dishes at dinner. The boat platter we reserved was extremely fresh, and the sushi prepared right in front of us was delicious as well. I love grilled seafood, and I went back for it twice. The steak was also excellent. We couldn’t possibly try everything—of course there wasn’t any room left for late-night ramen, so I’d like to have that next time (laugh). We made our Reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and they surprised us by bringing dessert and taking photos for us—it became a truly happy memory. Breakfast was also buffet-style. In the morning, I made my own seafood rice bowl and enjoyed it very much. The freshly cooked French toast was delicious too. There were so many dishes that we couldn’t finish them all—it was a one-night stay filled with food that delighted both our eyes and taste buds. Lastly, thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the staff who always greeted us with smiles—we had a very pleasant stay at your Accommodation. We will visit again.

Ideally located near Ise Jingu Shrine, making early-morning and evening visits possible. A relaxing distributed Hotel.

This is an inn I had been curious about for about a year, and I was finally able to make my long-awaited stay come true. At check-in, you kindly explained the history and culture of Ise-Kawasaki in great detail, which truly moved me. The Ise tea and salted yokan served to us were delicious, and the warm, attentive hospitality of the staff member who assisted us left a lasting impression. The room was a charming space where you could feel the breath of history—spacious, spotless, and extremely comfortable. The beautiful garden view unfolding beyond the room was so captivating that I found myself gazing at it for ages. The amenities were also wonderful, including VMG’s familiar rice bran series and the bath additive “Ise no Misogi-yu.” What impressed me most was breakfast. The dishes inspired by the tradition of “Shinsen,” offerings presented to the deities of Jingu Shrine, had deep, comforting flavors that reflected time-honored craftsmanship and spirit. It was a soothing and healing experience that allowed me to feel the region’s climate and history. I also appreciated being able to enjoy Ise udon at breakfast—something I had missed during my trip—which felt like such thoughtful consideration. At check-out, you kindly took commemorative photos for us in front of the main building and warmly saw us off until we were out of sight; that moment remains vividly in my heart even now. It was clear that everyone on staff truly cherishes Ise’s history and culture, making this a wonderful stay that reminded me of Japan’s sense of beauty—something easily forgotten amid everyday busyness. I would love to return again. Thank you very much for such a heartwarming and wonderful time.

An Onsen Accommodation Offering Stunning Views of Lake Suwa and Unique Hot Springs for Relaxation

The Hotel is located due east of Lake Suwa. The main building has windows facing north and south, while the annex (Palace Wing) has windows facing east and west. Summer fireworks go up due north of the Hotel. If you are coming for the fireworks, it seems best to book a Room on the north side of the main building; if you want lake views and sunsets, a west-facing Room in the annex is recommended. (The “Floor Plan” on the Hotel’s official website is easy to understand.) Enter from the south side of the Hotel and head east into the large parking lot in front of the Hotel (south side). Leave your luggage with a bell person and park in an available space. Check in at reception. Your luggage will be taken to your Room on a cart. The Room is clean, stylish, bright, comfortable, and recently renovated. Along the large north-facing window there is a long counter and chairs. To the left you can see Lake Suwa; to the right, beyond the Japanese Red Cross hospital building, you can view Suwa town and the northern mountains. The night view is also beautiful. There is no view from the unit bath. At showtime, lights in buildings around town dim, and fireworks rise due north for about 10 minutes. There seems to be music as well, but it cannot be heard from inside the Room. The private bath “Anzu” is a scenic bath with a large window opening to the north. The private open-air bath “Karin” faces west but is screened by fencing for privacy. Both are spacious enough, have two washing stations each, and are clean. The Chinese cuisine is refined yet easy to enjoy. Most tables are families so it stays quiet, though there may occasionally be groups drinking loudly. The breakfast buffet is also excellent. There is a long counter on the west side where you can dine facing the lake as well (first come, first served). Breakfast hours are set generously long, and estimated busy times are posted as guidance. This Review rating reflects my personal impression assuming “3” means fair value for money at this price point.
