Toppo-ji Temple (Rokkakudo) and Nishiki Market are also within walking distance, so you can enjoy exploring the neighborhood as well. Two Room types are available: a Suite Room accommodating up to 5 guests, and a bunk bed Room for up to 4 guests. Both offer spacious layouts, perfect for family trips or group stays. All Rooms include a kitchen, so you can bring back bento meals or ingredients purchased at Nishiki Market or nearby department stores and enjoy them at your leisure in your Room. A coin laundry is also available on-site, making it recommended for longer stays as well.

Nishiki Market
A 2-minute walk from RESI STAY KUON. This market, with over 400 years of history, is known as “Kyoto’s Kitchen.” Around 130 shops line the streets, offering unique ingredients, local specialties, and a variety of goods and tools. Many shops close in the early evening, so we recommend visiting earlier in the day.
Chōhōji Temple (Rokkakudō)
A 4-minute walk from RESI STAY KUON This temple is commonly known as “Rokkakudo” because its main hall appears hexagonal when viewed from directly above. It is said to have been founded by Prince Shotoku, and is also famous as a place where Shinran, founder of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism, stayed in retreat, and for being home to the headquarters of the Ikenobo school of ikebana. It is also worshipped as a place for matchmaking and love wishes to come true. Within the grounds is the “Heso-ishi” (Navel Stone), said to mark the center of Kyoto.
Kyoto Cultural Museum
A 4-minute walk from RESI STAY KUON. This museum introduces Kyoto’s history and culture. In addition to its “General Exhibitions,” which combine three functions—a history museum, an art museum, and a film library center—it also hosts special exhibitions. The red-brick annex designed by Kingo Tatsuno is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
