Eigenji Onsen Happu no Yu

All of our guest rooms feature a private open-air Onsen bath. Enjoy Eigenji Onsen as much as you like, whenever you like. Soak in the warm waters while feeling close to nature, and spend a luxurious time at your own pace.

Guests may use the adjacent Onsen Facility, “Happu no Yu,” as many times as they like. Enjoy a wide variety of baths, including an open-air bath overlooking the Echi River, an herbal bath, a reclining bath, and private pot baths. The Facility also features a dry sauna (“Netsuki-buro”), a salt sauna (“Shiogama”), and complimentary hot-stone spa access for staying guests—perfect for relaxing body and mind with the Onsen and enjoying your own “totonou” time.

For dinner, enjoy a kaiseki course featuring Omi beef, Eigenji’s specialty salt-grilled char (iwana), and seasonal ingredients from Shiga. For breakfast, in our dining area overlooking the Echi River, savor a Japanese set meal with hearty pork miso soup, grilled fish, and Eigenji’s specialty sashimi-style konnyaku. Spend a truly satisfying time with the unique flavors of Shiga.

After your bath, spend time however you like in the “Tosho Rakubo” library lounge, with around 1,200 manga volumes, magazines, and paperback books. Relax on the tatami area for a chat, or sink into a recliner and get lost in your favorite read—enjoy a leisurely stay. You can also use the “Ippuku no Ma” relaxation room with TV-equipped reclining chairs, as well as “Momidokoro Rakuzen,” where gentle bodywork helps ease away fatigue. Soothe yourself even further after warming up in the Onsen and enjoy a refreshing moment for both body and mind. At our on-site restaurant “Sansui,” we offer meals featuring Omi beef and local Eigenji specialties, along with light bites and sweets perfect after a bath. Savor favorites like Happu Pudding and mitarashi dango as you linger in the afterglow of the Onsen.
