  • I was able to relax in the Room while looking out at the lush green trees and enjoy a soothing, restful time. The meals were also delicious; I took my time enjoying the course dinner, and for breakfast I had a Japanese set meal. Both the presentation and taste were excellent.

  • I stayed overnight because the “Zuri Chouaise” I had on a previous visit for a meal was so delicious that I wanted to have it again.I was very satisfied to be able to enjoy the “Zuri Chouaise” again this time as well—it was exceptionally delicious. Every other dish we had was also excellent; the food overall was simply outstanding. As for the Room, it was clean and had all the essentials, so I had no major complaints. The natural Onsen, the powerful hair dryer, and the carefully selected tea service were highlights. My only minor complaints were that, since it was a top-floor corner Room, the toilet flush and the Wi‑Fi signal were a bit weak.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Meal Image

A "restaurant you can stay at" – that's what an "auberge" is.

An auberge is a "restaurant with accommodation." Originating in France, it is an accommodation designed primarily for enjoying cuisine. Unlike hotels or ryokans, the focus here is on food. Savor seasonal course meals at your own pace and spend the night in a tranquil room surrounded by nature. An auberge is a place where deliciousness and relaxation come together as one. For those seeking a journey to enjoy food, an auberge offers nourishment for both the heart and body.

Auberge in the Forest Greenbell

The once-beloved restaurant "greenbell" has been reborn as a serene auberge nestled in the rich natural beauty of Azumino, Shinshu, weaving a new story. This area, surrounded by seasonal landscapes, is home to numerous museums where culture and nature harmoniously blend. Inside greenbell, art pieces are displayed throughout the space, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a small art museum. Our cuisine features authentic French dishes crafted with seasonal ingredients. Each plate offers a harmonious blend of the chef's creativity and the blessings of Shinshu for an unforgettable dining experience. Additionally, we invite you to relax in Hotaka Ariake Onsen. Located at the foot of the Northern Alps, this Onsen boasts clear alkaline simple hot spring waters that are gentle on the skin and may help alleviate nerve pain, muscle pain, and fatigue recovery. A soothing Onsen experience, spaces adorned with art and nature's beauty, and memorable gourmet delights—greenbell offers every guest moments of refined tranquility and relaxation.

About the Onsen in Hotaka Onsen Village

Hotaka Onsenkyo, located in Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture, is a nature-rich Onsen area nestled at the foot of the Northern Alps. This region, formerly known as Hotaka Town, is surrounded by fresh air and lush greenery, offering stunning seasonal landscapes. The Onsen in Hotaka Onsenkyo primarily features alkaline simple hot springs with soft water that is colorless, transparent, and nearly odorless. Known for its high pH value and skin-friendly properties, it is often referred to as "beauty-enhancing water." Visitors praise the smoothness of their skin after bathing here, making it especially popular among women and seniors. The therapeutic benefits of these hot springs include relief from nerve pain, muscle pain, joint pain, poor circulation, and fatigue. It serves as a relaxing retreat for both body and mind. Additionally, since the source water comes from underground streams fed by the Northern Alps' snowmelt waters, it boasts excellent quality with a gentle touch on the skin.
