Notice of the Introduction of the Accommodation Tax in Nasu Town
From October 1, 2026, Nasu Town, Tochigi Prefecture will introduce an Accommodation Tax.
The Accommodation Tax amount per guest per night is as follows:
Less than JPY 10,000: JPY 100
JPY 10,000 to less than JPY 20,000: JPY 300
JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 30,000: JPY 500
JPY 30,000 to less than JPY 50,000: JPY 800
JPY 50,000 to less than JPY 100,000: JPY 1,500
JPY 100,000 or more: JPY 3,000
Note: For the purpose of the Accommodation Tax calculation, the Accommodation Fee refers to the No Meals Included rate plus any applicable Service Fee. Meal charges and consumption tax are not included.
Tax-exempt stays:
Guests under age 12
School trips and other school events (including participants and accompanying staff)
A certificate proving participation in a school trip or similar event is required.
