A three-story brown building. The first floor is the front desk, and the second and third floors are guest rooms. If you're heading to a nearby department of Kyoto University, it's just a 3-minute walk. Chion-ji Temple, Shimogamo Shrine, Yoshida Shrine, Ginkaku-ji Temple, as well as Kyoto University Hospital and Kyoto Prefectural University Hospital are all within walking distance. The important cultural property "Seifuso" (a former villa of Saionji) is so close you can almost reach out to it. It is usually open to the public in November with limited entry through prior reservation. Kyoto University of the Arts can be reached in about 10 minutes by City Bus No. 3 or around 7 minutes by bicycle.
Guesthouse Hyakumanben Cross is located in Hyakumanben, near the Kamo River flowing through the heart of Kyoto and at the foot of Mount Daimonji, surrounded by rich nature. From the window of the third-floor Japanese-style room "Tokiwa," you can enjoy a direct view of Mount Daimonji, which serves as the centerpiece for Kyoto's famous Gozan no Okuribi fire festival. On the night of Okuribi, you can clearly see the grand "大" character illuminated by spectacular flames.
