Located in Kawaramachi Jujo, approximately a 6-minute walk from Exit 1 of Jujo Subway Station. This designer Hotel, opened in 2021, is supervised by the renowned designer Teruhiro Yanagihara. Our Hotel's carefully crafted breakfast features a Nordic-style menu centered around "Smørrebrød," a traditional Danish dish that is rare even in Japan. Both the main and side dishes are prepared with original recipes by our chef using seasonal ingredients. The 51 guest rooms are equipped with warm Nordic-style lighting and wooden furniture, offering a simple yet high-quality space for your stay. The rooftop on the top floor of the Hotel is a spot where visitors can enjoy the beauty of Kyoto, with stunning views of the city's sunrise and sunset. Around the Hotel, you will find popular Kyoto attractions such as Fushimi Inari Taisha and Tofukuji Temple. Whether for business or leisure, THE REIGN HOTEL KYOTO will surely be one of the highlights of your Kyoto trip.
I stayed for three nights. Amenities such as cleansing products were available at the front desk.It was a Room with a shower only, but even on the 5th floor the water pressure was strong and comfortable, and the bath towels were generously sized. The parking lot also had availability, which was very helpful—thank you.

The Scandinavian-style Rooms, inspired by the lifestyle of Nordic countries, feature warm wooden furniture and soft lighting, creating a space where you can feel a sense of calm and comfort both physically and mentally. Among the 11 Room types, there is the "Luxury Deluxe Twin," a 56㎡ Room accommodating up to 4 guests, and the "Premium Deluxe King with Terrace," a special Room with a private terrace offering a view of Kyoto Tower.
Breakfast
At THE REIGN HOTEL KYOTO, we believe that "breakfast is one of the greatest pleasures of travel." Our breakfast features a half-buffet style with "Smørrebrød," an open sandwich beloved in Scandinavia, which is rare to find in Japan. The menu changes seasonally, with each dish carefully crafted by our Hotel chefs to bring out the best flavors of the ingredients. Start your morning on a delightful note with our thoughtfully prepared breakfast. Menu: Smørrebrød, hot dishes, cold dishes, fruits, yogurt, drinks, etc. *For Smørrebrød, you may order up to 2 pieces of each of the 5 varieties, for a maximum of 10 pieces. Rooftop
A rooftop offering panoramic views of Kyoto. You can also see Kyoto Tower. Enjoy the open rooftop terrace for Kyoto's nightscape during sunset or after dusk. This space is freely available for property guests and bar patrons. Please enjoy.
Cafe & Bar
The bar is open exclusively on weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). We offer a variety of alcoholic beverages, original cocktails, snacks, and café menu items. Both Property guests and visitors are welcome to enjoy our services. Location: 1F Restaurant *During the summer season, the bar operates on the rooftop. Hours: 17:00–23:00 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) *Please note that the bar may be closed on Sundays or operating hours may change. Nordic dessert 'Semla'
Semla, a traditional Swedish pastry filled with plenty of cream. This sweet treat is also loved in Finland, where it is called Laskiaispulla. We have reimagined this traditional pastry in THE REIGN HOTEL KYOTO style. The bread is soaked in cardamom-infused custard and carefully baked. Inside the generously portioned, mildly sweet cream is our homemade ganache. A sweet yet refreshing Nordic dessert. Takeout is also available, so feel free to ask our staff.
