National Lodge Miyajima Mori no Yado
Hiroshima Prefecture/HatsukaichiMiyajima Mori no Yado, a public Accommodation nestled beside a shrine in a park at the foot of a primeval forest.
A National Lodge is a Property or Facility built in areas with excellent natural environments, such as national parks or national recreational Onsen areas. Miyajima Mori no Yado is a National Lodge located within Omoto Park, at the foot of the natural monument Misen Primeval Forest. Omoto Park is a rare place in the world where large fir trees grow near the coastline, blending the scent of the sea with the fragrance of the forest. It has long been a famous spot for cherry blossoms and is counted among the Eight Views of Itsukushima for its beauty. Additionally, within the park lies Omoto Shrine, an ancient shrine said to have been established even before Itsukushima Shrine. During the winter festival Hyakutematsuri and the summer Miyajima Grand Festival Kangen-sai, ceremonial boats dock here, and rituals are performed. Right in front of the lodge is the Miyajima Aquarium, allowing you to rediscover the charm of Miyajima while staying at Miyajima Mori no Yado, surrounded by the rich natural beauty of the sea and mountains.
The staff were wonderful, the food was delicious, the twin Room was spacious, there was a large public bath, and Shuttle Service was available. From the moment I saw photos of this Hotel, I somehow knew I wanted to stay here. Everything is spotless down to the smallest details, and you can truly feel their thoughtful hospitality. It’s close to the Great Torii Gate, making it convenient for an evening or early-morning stroll. After checking out this time, when I went back to pick up my luggage, I ended up resting in the lobby for over two hours due to mild heat exhaustion. I’m sincerely grateful for how kindly and attentively the staff took care of me. I’m planning to stay again in November.

| About Hygiene Measures | < COVID-19 Prevention Measures >
Thorough “Hygiene Management” and Avoidance of the “Three Cs”
To provide services that allow guests to stay with peace of mind amid the risk of COVID-19, we have further strengthened hygiene measures throughout the Hotel and thoroughly monitor the health conditions of both guests and staff, while working to avoid the “Three Cs”:
(1) Poorly ventilated enclosed spaces
(2) Crowded places where people gather
(3) Close-contact settings where contact with an unspecified number of people is likely
By helping prevent these “Three Cs,” we will continue to provide a safe and comfortable stay for our guests.
*To ensure services that help guests feel at ease*
Due to the impact of COVID-19, travel and in-person interaction have been restricted.
Therefore, we are implementing two key measures: “Hygiene Management” and “Avoidance of the Three Cs.”
Under “Hygiene Management,” we focus primarily on disinfection within the Hotel as well as health checks for staff and guests.
For “Avoidance of the Three Cs,” we are committed to creating an environment in which such situations are less likely to occur—from both guest–staff and guest–guest perspectives—and will adjust our conventional services accordingly.
Feature 1: “Hygiene Management” Measures
With consideration for guest health and public hygiene, we are taking the following actions:
■ Guests with symptoms such as fever, cough, or sore throat may be asked to wait in a private room away from other guests and refrain from going out.
■ Alcohol-based disinfectant is available at various locations, including entrances.
■ All guests are asked to sanitize their hands with alcohol upon entering the restaurant.
■ In addition to regular room cleaning, common areas within the Hotel are cleaned and wiped down using alcohol EA-58. In particular, all guestrooms receive disinfecting cleaning on frequently touched surfaces (doorknobs, drawer/refrigerator handles, remote controls, switches, etc.).
■ Disinfection of buttons in shared areas (elevators), restrooms, and vending machines
■ Disinfection of front counter surfaces, pens, and room keys
■ High-temperature washing (80°C or higher) for tableware (plates/glasses) and cutlery; disinfecting wash for meal trays
■ All on-site staff wear masks.
■ Thorough management of staff health and hygiene (temperature checks upon arrival at work; records confirmed).
■ Notices requesting hand sanitization are posted at reception/front desk areas and restrooms.
Feature 2: “Avoidance of the Three Cs” Measures
To avoid enclosed spaces (“closed”), crowded places (“crowded”), and close-contact settings (“close contact”), we take the following actions:
■ Large public bath (day-use bathing): entry is limited by number using dedicated baskets managed at reception/front desk.
■ Restaurant crowd levels are monitored; dining times are staggered.
■ The main dining venue has been moved to a large hall on the 2nd floor to maintain social distancing.
■ Table spacing/layout adjustments (including seating arrangements).
■ Regular ventilation/air replacement.
■ Cautionary signs/reminders are posted throughout inside facilities.
< Measures at This Accommodation >
■ Buffet-style service has been changed to set menus or other service styles that reduce contact among unspecified numbers of people.
