Japanese-style room with a view of Yubatake, Onsen baths fed by the Yubatake source, and a Gunma specialty buffet

[Long-established Accommodation in front of Kusatsu Yubatake] Enjoy the rare free-flowing Onsen sourced directly from the Yubatake spring. We also recommend changing into a complimentary colorful yukata and taking a stroll around Yubatake. Dog-friendly Rooms are available as well. In addition, you can enjoy an Onsen tour at our two sister Hotels, featuring the “Bandai Mine Source” and the “Sainokawara Source.” For dinner, we offer a buffet featuring Gunma specialties and seasonal ingredients, as well as a Japanese set meal with Gunma’s branded meats—Joshu beef and Joshu Mugi Pork.

  • Kusatsu Trip

We checked in early and enjoyed the Onsen before dinner. The perfectly comfortable Onsen temperature was wonderful!Drinks after the bath were also great! There was a wide variety at the dinner buffet, but we were so full that we couldn’t try everything.Breakfast also had a great selection and was delicious. One thing to mention: it was disappointing that there was hardly any hot water from the faucet in our Room.We could see the Yubatake lit up at night from our Room. We actually wanted to take a walk to the Yubatake right in front of us, but it started raining and we couldn’t go, which was a shame. The exterior of the building showed its age, but choosing Daitokan was absolutely the right decision. We’d like to stay again.Thank you very much.

  • We were extremely satisfied!

I was a little unsure what an Onsen Accommodation that allows dogs would be like, but after staying there it was very comfortable and I was completely satisfied. The surrounding area is great for walks with your dog, and the breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of delicious dishes that made me feel happy from the morning. Of course, the Onsen water quality was excellent as well, and I was able to relax and enjoy my stay. I made wonderful memories with my dog. I would definitely like to stay again.

Accommodation

Accommodation

Relaxing Rooms centered around Japanese-style design. Choose from spacious standard Japanese-style Rooms, Japanese-Western Rooms with a large Western-style living area, and even a dedicated pet-friendly floor where you can stay with your dog—options to suit every need. From Rooms on the front entrance side, you can enjoy views of Yubatake, the symbol of Kusatsu Onsen.

Onsen

Onsen

Enjoy the hot spring water from Yubatake, Kusatsu’s iconic landmark. Yubatake is right in front of the Hotel. The continuously flowing source water has the distinctly Kusatsu quality with a faint sulfur scent; although strongly acidic, it feels gentle on the skin. “Kusatsu Onsen Daitokan” is a long-established Ryokan involved in the development of Kusatsu Onsen, and one of the few Accommodations that draws water directly from the Yubatake source via a dedicated pipe. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content in four different baths.

Cuisine

Cuisine

Meals to choose from: buffet or kaiseki. We offer both a restaurant and private dining rooms, and you can choose either a buffet or kaiseki for dinner. Both feature carefully crafted flavors using local ingredients and fresh seasonal produce. Enjoy a variety of delicious dishes that rival the appeal of our Onsen.
