Yumori Takumi-an Yamakawa, boasting a history of over a century, is a property utilizing the Onogawa Onsen, which has been open for over a thousand years. The onsen, with its high salt concentration and excellent moisturizing effects, offers a texture akin to lotion. The spacious Japanese-Western style rooms, combining a tatami area and a bedroom, provide a relaxing space. Enjoy the luxurious Onogawa Onsen in the atmospheric rock-built open-air bath and the stone-built large bath. Additionally, savor the flavors of Yonezawa, from local dishes and fresh local vegetables to exquisite meat dishes.
This was my second stay in Yonezawa City, and I chose this property with high expectations for the meals and the baths.The room was spacious, quiet, clean, and very comfortable.The meals met my expectations—I really enjoyed the Yonezawa beef sukiyaki.The baths use natural hot spring water: a hotter indoor bath and a milder open-air bath. They aren’t flashy, but the water felt wonderfully soft. After reading the legend of Ono no Komachi, I could see why—it’s truly excellent hot spring water.

I soaked in the Onsen at night and again in the morning, and was amazed at how smooth my skin felt.The Accommodation staff were kind and supportive, offering helpful advice and speaking gently to our children, which made us feel truly welcomed.Dinner hot pot came with more meat than we could finish. The menu featured many local specialties, which adults enjoyed, though some dishes seemed a bit challenging for children.The Facility has a sense of history, but it is fully air-conditioned, so we stayed comfortably cool.
