A traditional Ryokan offering relaxation with the seasonal beauty of Mikawa Bay and revitalizing hot springs.

Hiranoya is the oldest ryokan in Miya Onsen, nestled in the scenic Mikawa Bay. Located on a hill, it offers stunning views of Mikawa Bay that change with each season. This ryokan takes pride in its Kaiseki cuisine featuring delicacies from the mountains and sea of Mikawa, as well as exquisite deep-sea fish dishes from Gamagori. The buffet with 40 Japanese and Western dishes, including Mikawa beef steak, is also popular. Guests can enjoy the natural onsen "Bihaku-sen," known for its beautifying properties, through four unique baths within the facility. Conveniently located just a 3-minute drive from the multi-resort facility "Laguna Ten Bosch," Hiranoya offers free shuttle service and is highly rated as a base for visiting Laguna Ten Bosch. Additionally, Hiranoya is one of the few accommodations in Miya Onsen where guests can stay with their pets (small dogs only). Various pet-friendly plans are also available.

  • My spouse and I stayed for one night with our dog.The property was clean and very welcoming, and the rooftop dog run was great. There was no dinner, only a breakfast buffet, but the selection was extensive and everything was delicious. The staff were attentive, so we could enjoy our meal comfortably. If I had one complaint, it would be that the parking lot is small; since we arrived later, we had to park in the second or third lot down below and walk up the hill, which felt quite far.

  • We arrived early, but the staff kindly handled our check-in.The welcome coffee was delicious; you grind the beans yourself.Dinner was also excellent—we ended up eating too much because the Mikawa beef steak and freshly fried tempura were so good. However, the open-air bath was in a separate area and had no handrails, so it was a bit difficult for elderly guests with mobility issues to use.Since this is a Hotel where you can stay with pets, it’s recommended for guests traveling with dogs.We would like to visit again.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Kaiseki Image

A traditional Ryokan boasting Mikawa's mountain and sea delicacies, as well as exquisite deep-sea fish cuisine from Gamagori.

Hiranoya was established in 1932 as a small culinary Ryokan. Mikawa is blessed with a mild climate throughout the year and is surrounded by nature, including the sea and mountains. Our head chef carefully prepares each dish using locally sourced ingredients to bring out the natural flavors of this region. In Gamagori, where Hiranoya is located, rare deep-sea fish such as Mehikari, Nigis, and Akasaebi are caught in abundance—different from those found in Ise or Mikawa Bay. Gamagori is the only place in the prefecture where offshore bottom trawl fishing takes place, making these fish a local specialty. At our Ryokan, we offer luxurious kaiseki cuisine featuring these premium deep-sea delicacies for your enjoyment.

Buffet

The "Japanese-Western 40-Item Dinner Buffet," featuring freshly grilled Mikawa beef steak, is also highly recommended.

In addition to kaiseki cuisine, our Japanese-Western dinner buffet featuring 40 dishes is also highly popular, offering a rich taste of Mikawa. Enjoy freshly grilled steak from Aichi Prefecture's renowned wagyu brand, "Mikawa Beef." The buffet also includes freshly fried tempura, a salad bar focusing on vegetables, and a dessert corner, making it especially popular with families.

Hiranoya offers a variety of unique bathing experiences, including the "Garden Open-Air Bath Hina no Yu," the "Cave Bath," and the "Large Public Bath Kirara no Yu," allowing you to enjoy an onsen tour within the facility. The natural onsen of Mitani, renowned as "Bijin no Yu" (Beauty Hot Spring), is a rare alkaline simple spring with low salt and calcium content, commonly found in coastal areas. It contains various ions and is colorless, transparent, and gentle on the skin, earning it the name "Bihaku-sen" (Whitening Hot Spring). Additionally, our baths feature mineral-rich "rock bed stones" installed in the tubs. These enhance far-infrared effects and mineral absorption for increased perspiration and detoxification benefits. Immerse yourself in soothing waters that embrace your heart while enjoying a serene moment infused with natural warmth.
