Opened in 2021. Located in a prime location, about a 2-minute walk from JR "Nijo" Station and within walking distance to Nijo Castle. Direct access to the Arashiyama area by JR and to "Higashiyama" Station, lined with temples and shrines, from Subway "Nijo" Station without transfers. On the first floor of the Hotel, the "CANVAS Lounge" offers complimentary coffee and tea for staying guests, a social space where guests can sometimes work, sometimes play, and connect with hotel staff and locals. Together with the large public bath and gym, we offer a "FUN," "LOCAL," and "CONNECT" stay unique to CANVAS.

  • Accommodation near Nijo Castle

    I stayed here to visit Nijo Castle.The bed was 220 cm wide—the largest I’ve had at any Hotel—and the large public bath was spacious as well, so I had a very comfortable stay.The Hotel staff were polite and helpful, and I had no issues during my stay. The Hotel was clean, great value for money, and I was very satisfied.

    The Room was clean, and the lighting was bright, which was great. I also liked that I could have free coffee in the campus loungeand get work done on my laptop. Even though it’s in front of the station and along a main road, the Room was quiet, which was nice.It would have been even better if there had been a sauna and a water dispenser in the bath area. Since there is only one microwave on the first floor, many people were using it and I had to adjust my timing, but overall it was good.

In June 2021, The Royal Park Canvas Kyoto Nijo was established, approximately a 2-minute walk from JR and Subway "Nijo" Station. The hotel's design concept is "Contrast"—expressing the expanse of time and space in Kyoto, between tradition and innovation, global and local, future and past. The "CANVAS Lounge" embodies "Contrast" with its bi-color design of wood and black. It is a social space where you can work, play, and connect with hotel staff and locals.
