MASCOS HOTEL (Masukosu Hotel Masuda Onsen) opened in April 2019. Rooted in the local community, it is a lifestyle Hotel from Masuda City, Shimane Prefecture, created not only as an Accommodation but also as a hub for sharing new culture. The Hotel features the free-flowing waters of Masuda Onsen from its own source within the building. It is also a new kind of “craft hotel,” meticulously developed in collaboration with local industries—potteries, furniture makers, sewing manufacturers, and more—across every detail, from spatial design and interiors to tableware and fabrics. Please enjoy the craftsmanship woven throughout the Hotel.

  • I loved the samue loungewear.

    I stayed at this Hotel for a business trip to Masuda City because it was close to the station. Just as in the photos, the interior was wonderful (both the shared areas and my Room). The large public bath was also clean and very pleasant to use. What I especially liked was the samue loungewear provided in the Room. The fabric felt great on my skin and it was very comfortable to wear (I later bought one online). Breakfast was also delicious. I would like to stay here again.

Masuda Onsen is a genuine natural Onsen, drawn directly from a spring source flowing deep underground on the grounds of MASCOS HOTEL since April 2017. Its water quality falls under sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) as defined in Appendix Table 1, Item 1 of Article 2 of the Hot Springs Act, and is alkaline with a smooth feel—known as a “beauty bath” that is gentle on the skin. It is available not only to overnight guests but also for day-use bathing.
