About a 10-minute walk from Shinjuku Gyoen Station. Surrounded by an unexpected tranquility in Shinjuku.

■ Essence of the Ryokan YUEN—meaning "origin" or "reason"—represents the essence of hospitality. Ryokans, as places offering rest and meals to travelers, have evolved to embody Japan's unique culture of hospitality. With a simple and efficient design, tranquil and serene spaces, refined aesthetics, and seasonal experiences that engage all five senses, "ONSEN RYOKAN YUEN SHINJUKU" refines the essence of ryokans while offering a new way to enjoy your stay. ■ Onsen Our open-air bath features alkaline simple hot spring water sourced from Hakone's natural springs, known for its skin benefits. Enjoy an exceptional bathing experience with stunning views over Shinjuku.

  • Tatami with beds, very relaxing. Traditional hospitality with tabi socks provided. The bath on the 18th floor offers a stunning night view of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building from the open-air bath. Breakfast exceeded expectations with New Year's osechi dishes. About 80% of guests were from overseas, but everyone had good manners, and the bath area was kept clean. There is a 7-Eleven convenience store across the street.

  • This was my third stay. This time, I stayed to celebrate my husband's birthday. The check-in process was smooth as it was done via a machine. Also, since it was during the New Year period, I enjoyed the seasonal touches in the breakfast. I reserved a high-floor room, and the view was stunning with clear sights of distant mountains. As it’s winter, using the heater made the air dry; having a humidifier might be helpful. I used the large public bath during less crowded times in the evening and morning, so I could relax comfortably. The sunset view from the open-air bath was beautiful. However, there were some hairs on the floor of the changing room due to many users; thankfully, there were cleaning tools available for quick tidying up. I always look forward to enjoying ice cream at the entrance of the large public bath—this time they had cookies & cream and matcha azuki flavors available. It’s rare to find an accommodation where you can enjoy an onsen in central Tokyo; I would love to stay here again!
