This fully private machiya (townhouse) has been renovated from a traditional Kyoto townhouse, tucked away on a lane lined with preserved streetscapes designated as a Historic Heritage Scenic District. Enjoy a Japanese-style room featuring fusuma sliding doors with Karakami art and views of the tsuboniwa courtyard garden; a living-dining area with a kitchen for cooking; and a bathroom with a Goemon-buro–style tub. Upstairs offers both a Western-style bedroom and an additional Japanese-style room, comfortably accommodating up to 6 guests. For an elevated stay where you can encounter the history and culture etched into this temple district and its streetscape, welcome to the machiya Accommodation “Orie.”

■Important Notes for Your Stay■
1. As this is a historic wooden building, open flames are strictly prohibited and smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises.
2. This is a private machiya rental, so staff are not on-site at all times. However, an emergency contact number is registered on a dedicated mobile phone. Please contact us in case of emergency and we will respond promptly.
3. This Accommodation is a renovated machiya that was originally used as a private residence. There are neighboring buildings, and local residents live nearby. We kindly ask for your consideration during your stay.
4. Depending on usage conditions, we may request improvements in how the Facility is used. If no improvement is observed, we may have to ask you to leave. Please note that no refunds will be provided in such cases.
5. Details such as check-in instructions will be sent to you again after your Reservation is confirmed.
6. This Accommodation is licensed under the Ryokan Business Act. Amenities such as toothbrushes, cotton pads, shampoo, and more are provided, so you can stay with peace of mind even for just one night.
7. All items and equipment in the Facility are available free of charge; however, some fittings and furnishings use traditional or antique materials and may be fragile. Please handle them with care.
8. If anything is damaged or malfunctions, please inform us without delay. For minor damage, we will cover repair costs; however, if we determine that the damage is significant and repairs require substantial expense, you may be asked to pay the actual costs regardless of intent or negligence.
9. The Accommodation Tax must be paid in cash on the day of check-in (upon arrival).
