6ishiki art & sauna Located in a serene residential area of a tranquil basin surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges, "6ishiki" offers a unique stay. The main building, TSUCHIKABE, is a renovated 100-year-old traditional Japanese house, while the annex, hanare, is a renovated 50-year-old home. This private accommodation is available exclusively for one group per day.

The private sauna made entirely of Japanese cypress is one of 6ishiki's standout features. Enjoy a Finnish-style dry sauna with your preferred temperature up to 90°C, and create your own self-loyly by pouring aromatic water as you like. The cold bath uses mineral-rich underground water drawn from a well.

We offer a room dining plan where you can enjoy the Sauna Kaiseki Meal after relaxing in the sauna. Savor the taste of a 130-year-old traditional establishment, featuring seasonal ingredients in a special private setting. Dinner will be delivered to your room by our staff at your chosen time of 17:00, 18:00, or 18:30. After your meal, please place the dishes in the designated box for collection. We also provide carefully selected drinks to complement your meal. Additionally, guests who reserve the Sauna Kaiseki Meal will receive a complimentary brunch service at 9:30, 10:00, or 10:30. Enjoy it as part of your morning relaxation experience!

6ishiki is created as a work of art by the owner and artist, Hideyuki Tanaka, encompassing everything from the building to the accommodation's concept and experience design. The design is centered around concepts inspired by Buddhist philosophies such as Rokkon Shojo and Rokudo, with art pieces displayed in each room. The artworks include photo pieces resembling solar-powered drawings and collages of traditional Japanese motifs, inspired by a primitive worldview that reveres nature.
