Exclusive to one group per day. Experience "mindful moments" in a 100-year-old traditional Japanese house.

"6ishiki" is a private rental accommodation, renovated from a 100-year-old traditional Japanese house, located in a quiet residential area of a serene basin surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges. At 6ishiki, we value "time to reflect on oneself." The tranquil and profound atmosphere of the traditional house naturally calms the mind and turns your focus inward. The private sauna offers an unparalleled sense of comfort, allowing you to relax both body and mind in an exclusive space with no one else around. We hope our guests can experience moments of mindfulness, reflecting on themselves amidst their daily lives.

  • We stayed here for the first time to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The space was incredibly comfortable, and we’d love to come again. The welcome drink and baked treats won us over right away, and the Accommodation itself was wonderful. The sauna was available as much as we wanted from 6:00 to 22:00, and 90°C was just perfect. The cold bath water felt silky—you could tell it was rich in minerals and iron. There were plenty of towels, the herbal tea in the fridge was delicious, and the loungewear felt amazing on the skin.If I had to mention one thing, the OSAJI? amenities—toner and emulsion—had not been replenished. When I asked, I was told they weren’t available due to import circumstances, so it would have been even better if we had been informed in advance. (There’s a convenience store nearby, so we went to buy some.)The food was very tasty—especially the shabu-shabu and seafood, which were fresh and delicious. It did need a bit of reheating, but it was great being able to enjoy it indoors without worrying about others around us. Thank you very much. Next time we’d like to stay at hanare!

  • I stayed for one night with meals included. Both the sauna and the meals were excellent, and I had an amazing time. Perhaps due to the season or the building, it felt a bit cold even with all the heating on, but everything else was perfect. Next time, I’d love to try staying at Hanare!

Accommodation designed as a work of art

6ishiki is created as a work of art by the owner and artist, Hideyuki Tanaka, encompassing everything from the building to the accommodation's concept and experience design. The design is centered around concepts inspired by Buddhist philosophies such as Rokkon Shojo and Rokudo, with art pieces displayed in each room. The artworks include photo pieces resembling solar-powered drawings and collages of traditional Japanese motifs, inspired by a primitive worldview that reveres nature.

Welcome Drink

Specially Crafted Welcome Drink

We offer Nansanjo-produced Japanese black tea as a welcome drink, along with baked sweets from the attached café no-mu. Upon arriving at the accommodation, take a moment to relax and enjoy some tea.
