Introduction of the Accommodation

The Kiyomizu and Gion area, where you can fully enjoy the essence of Kyoto.
Since the relocation of the capital to Heian in 794, Kyoto has served as Japan's capital for over a thousand years. It is no exaggeration to say that the "Japanese culture" we envision today was nurtured over a long history here in Kyoto. The Kiyomizu-Gion area, where Gion Kuraku is located, offers the unique charm of Kyoto with its rows of traditional townhouses featuring latticework and mushiko-mado windows. This area is also home to numerous dining establishments, sweet shops, and traditional craft stores, allowing visitors to enjoy the essence of Kyoto's tradition and culture. Gion Kuraku is situated in this golden area, yet it is also surrounded by essential Facilities such as banks, supermarkets, and convenience stores, making it a Property where guests can truly experience "living in Kyoto."

Room
We have renovated a traditional Kyoto townhouse into a Property to provide enjoyment for visitors to Kyoto. In the past, property taxes were determined by the width of the frontage. Therefore, Gion Kura features a narrow frontage and a long, vertical design. At the back, there is a small garden blending Japanese and Western styles, a living room, and a bathroom facing the garden, allowing you to enjoy the "essence of Kyoto" during your stay.
