Shojin Japanese: A traditional set meal once eaten by Zen Buddhist monks during alms rounds since the Nara period. A long-established restaurant holding the registered trademark for “Tetsubachi Shojin Cuisine” will prepare a cleansing Shojin breakfast for you. Western: We will prepare a breakfast featuring freshly baked bread from Tengu-do, one of Kyoto’s three most renowned long-established bakeries, available exclusively at Gekkō-an. This semi-open-air bath lets you relax while enjoying the garden. The bathtub is a custom-made Shigaraki-ware tub crafted from clay containing a large amount of radium ore. We have created an environment where natural Onsen water springs forth, providing a bathtub with Onsen benefits. (West Wing Luxury Suite only) *The East Wing Garden Suite features a unit bathroom with a shower and bathtub.*

About Hygiene Measures
All floors in your Room (including tatami rooms) are cleaned and disinfected with a 100°C steam mop. Frequently touched surfaces such as light switches, remote controls, tables, and door handles are thoroughly disinfected daily with hypochlorous acid water. The air in the Room is also disinfected and deodorized daily using ozone. In addition, we use Warp Light and special detergents to remove protein-based residues from items such as remote controls and light switches for enhanced disinfection. Three to four highly trained housekeepers spend about two hours cleaning each Room, which has earned us high ratings. An air purifier is also provided in the Room.
