Introduction of the Accommodation

A "Distributed Machiya Hotel" concept made possible only in Nagahama, where historic streets, restaurants, historical sites, tourist attractions, the station, and Lake Biwa are all within walking distance. The first accommodation opened in 2020, followed by two more accommodation buildings and one experience facility in 2022. In 2025, three additional accommodation & gallery buildings will be added. In Nagahama, a town that preserves its traditional charm while embracing new changes, we look forward to welcoming you anytime.

This historic building, located along the main approach to the majestic Otani Temple Gate, has thrived as a kimono shop for over 200 years. The narrow-fronted yet deep "eel bed" style structure is divided into two Rooms, with a private sauna (time-shared) renovated from a storehouse and water station at the back. For families or groups, renting both Rooms as an entire building is highly recommended. Relax in a space that blends traditional architecture with modern comfort.

A renovated townhouse from the Taisho era located in the 13th Street area. Unlike the historical and picturesque Omotesando, 13th Street is lined with stylish new shops, including chic restaurants and charming white-themed boutiques. This townhouse features high ceilings, a wide frontage, and even a Western-style room, offering a true sense of the Taisho period. Take a stroll through time while exploring the spirit of "Machishu," which has contributed to local development for centuries from the Edo period to today, and enjoy it alongside art.

An experience Facility based on Shiga's traditional food "Funazushi (Narezushi)," said to be the origin of the globally beloved "sushi." Enjoy local Funazushi paired with sake or try blending Japanese herbal teas. Konareru also serves as a lively venue for art events, offering a unique space where Nagahama's culture and other traditions blend and ferment together.
