It retains traces of the "Wakaran Culture," a blend of Japanese, Chinese, and Western influences, and its charming and unique streetscape continues to thrive to this day. Located in the heart of the city in Juninmachi, Toutoutei stands as a testament to this rich history. Preserving the elegant Japanese-style architecture born in the Meiji era, this location, once a Chinese restaurant frequented by numerous cultural figures, was reborn as an auberge in the autumn of 2023. Carrying on the legacy of Toutoutei, it now weaves a new chapter in history as a place where people, cuisine, and cultures converge.
