    We escaped the lingering heat of the city and enjoyed an all-inclusive stay while breathing in the crisp, clear air.We had handmade pizza, plenty of sake, an Onsen, a massage chair—and even received a “Happy Birthday” gift.A wonderful way for a long-married couple to relax. We’d love to stay again. Thank you.

  • An Accommodation where women and children can feel comfortable and at ease

    It was a shame we arrived late, but since it was all-inclusive, we enjoyed drinks without hesitation. After 8:00 p.m., there were also plenty of snacks available.We had dinner in a lovely private annex, enjoyed live piano music at night, and even made use of the massage chair.The bath had tatami flooring that felt great underfoot, but the open-air bath was a little cool. Also, there were times when no one was at the front desk, which felt slightly unsettling—having a bell or similar would be helpful.

Origin of the name “Keburikawa” (Smoke River)

We would like to share the origin of our property name. “Keburikawa” (烟河) is an alternative name for the Honbaigawa River, located to the west of our property. In 1309, a verse recited at Emperor Hanazono’s Daishoe ceremony shows that this entire area was known as “Keburikawa.” The smoke rises from the villagers’ hearths—surely a prosperous settlement lies nearby; and just as the name “Keburikawa” suggests, mist seems to rise from the river’s surface. Blessed since ancient times with abundant harvests, we chose “Keburikawa,” a name that symbolizes this land, as our property name. At Satoyama Holiday Kyoto Keburikawa, we will share with you the charm of satoyama countryside where nature, food, culture, and history come alive.
