An emotional and historic Ryokan once visited by the poet Akiko Yosano.

Taikyourou, a hidden Japanese-style retreat located right in front of the "Rotating Bridge," the gateway to Amanohashidate. From your Room, enjoy views of the Amanohashidate Canal and pine tree-lined paths. Relax in the Amanohashidate Onsen or driftwood open-air bath, and savor the bounty of both sea and mountains from Tango.

  • The food was excellent. Each dish had a unique local touch, and even though we ate until we were full, it didn’t feel heavy. We really appreciated the thoughtful hospitality. It was easy to ask for advice on how to spend our time, and this is an Accommodation we’d love to stay at again in a different season.\nThe stairs are steep, so you need to be careful, but I’d still like to bring my mother.

  • The Accommodation is in a great location, and the Room with a terrace had an amazing view and was perfect. The staff were very welcoming, and the meals offered a wide variety of options with excellent seasoning. I recommended it to my friends.

Introduction of the Accommodation

a_tpc2.jpg
A historic property associated with Yosano Akiko

Our Property began its journey in 1690 (Genroku 3) as "Kanshichi Chaya," selling "Chie no Mochi," which has now become a specialty of Amanohashidate, in front of the Chionji Temple gate. For generations, the Kanshichi family has preserved its unique flavor, and we are now in the 13th generation. In 1868, we opened "Taikyourou" as an inn across the street. In the early Showa era, the renowned female poet Akiko Yosano and her husband Tekkan visited Amanohashidate numerous times for poetic inspiration. They had a particularly close connection with "Taikyourou," leaving behind handwritten scrolls, letters, fan-shaped calligraphy, and other artifacts. Our Property also features a small gallery dedicated to these poets.

Exterior

"The closest property to Amanohashidate" Excellent location at the foot of the rotating bridge.

"Amanohashidate" is not only viewable from the observation deck but also features a promenade for leisurely walks or bicycle rentals. You can enjoy the beautiful nature of Miyazu, Kyoto, with "Amanohashidate Pine Tree Row," "Calm Sea," and "White Sand and Green Pines." Our property is located right in front of the "Rotating Bridge," considered the entrance to Amanohashidate, making it the closest accommodation to Amanohashidate. You can also walk to the "Beach" within Amanohashidate, and attractions such as the observation deck, sightseeing boat dock, and Chionji Temple are all within walking distance, making it very convenient for sightseeing.

The spirit of hospitality

Our Property is a long-established inn in Amanohashidate, first opened in the early Meiji era. It began as "Kanshichi Chaya," founded in 1690 during the Edo period, and has walked alongside the history of the Monju area in Amanohashidate. With only 10 Rooms, our small inn offers a nostalgic and heartwarming atmosphere. We hope to make your precious time an unforgettable memory with our attentive care and service. We would be delighted if you could see the traditional appearance of our old inn as part of our hospitality.
