  • A quiet lakeside Hotel

    This was my first visit. Perhaps due to the season, there were no guests with children, and the Accommodation was very quiet. When I stayed at other Kyukamura properties in the past, most guests were families, so I was used to a lively atmosphere; it made me wonder whether it is usually this quiet here. The calmness was truly pleasant. The staff’s hospitality was excellent, which also made my stay very comfortable. The meals were delicious, and I enjoyed them at a relaxed pace. I would also like to thank the staff member who kindly joined me on short notice and enthusiastically helped with my search for shimaenaga (long-tailed tits). I’m happy to have found another Accommodation I’d like to visit again. Thank you for a wonderful time.

    After arriving at the accommodation following a round of golf, we immediately enjoyed dinner. The restaurant staff were all very welcoming with warm smiles and kind words, which was truly comforting. Of course, the food was delicious as well. The onsen had a silky and moisturizing effect, and my skin felt great the next morning. I felt that this accommodation thoughtfully provided everything needed for convenience. With Lake Shikotsu nearby, we also enjoyed forest bathing. I would definitely love to stay here again!

  • The forest restaurant “Hidamari” reopened after renovation on April 25, 2026.

    On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the restaurant at Kyukamura Shikotsuko reopened after renovation. With the concept of a “Forest Restaurant,” a new live kitchen has been introduced.
    At the live kitchen, you can watch the final touches up close while enjoying dishes served fresh from the fryer and grill. The highlight of our first season after reopening—our “Shikotsuko Spring Buffet”—is freshly fried wild mountain vegetable tempura. Enjoy it with “sakura salt” or “matcha salt,” and savor the lively atmosphere unique to a live kitchen.
    New counter seating has also been added by the windows. At breakfast time, animals and wild birds may even stop by in the park area?! We look forward to welcoming you to our newly renovated Forest Restaurant Hidamari.
