A Resort Hotel located by Lake Shirakaba in Nagano Prefecture. The large public bath "Koten no Yu" features natural Onsen, offering an open-air bath and sauna with a stunning view of Lake Shirakaba. Meals are served buffet-style, featuring Japanese, Western, Chinese, and ethnic cuisines with a focus on seasonal flavors using local ingredients. Enjoy various activities both inside and outside the hotel, including a pool, bowling alley, indoor Onsen street, amusement park, and ski resort. The new main building opened on April 22nd, 2023. Guests are welcomed with new facilities such as an Onsen area, restaurant, and shop.
We stayed in the new wing this time. The Room layout, design, and atmosphere were excellent, and we were able to spend both nights very comfortably. The meals were very luxurious, but since we had a Multiple Night Stay, the buffet was the same on both days—if the main dish changed by day, it would have been even better. Above all, there are amusement parks and a zoo nearby, and since we traveled with children, it was a flawless five-star stay. Also, the Onsen offers a mixed-gender style where swimsuits are worn, so our whole family could bathe together and our kids were thrilled. We would like to visit again around the same time next year.
We stayed here with eight family members, including two grandchildren, to celebrate my 70th birthday. The building was clean, and all the staff were kind and handled everything efficiently. The grandchildren were thrilled, running around the on-site amusement area, athletic playground, and zoo. The meals were delicious as well, with many dishes made using local ingredients. We would love to stay again if we have the chance. If I could make one request, it would be great to have a direct bus from Shinjuku.

Over 70 years since its opening as Shirakaba Kogen Dormitory by the shores of Lake Shirakaba, Ikenotaira Hotel has been cherished by many guests. The main building has undergone a complete renovation and reopened on April 22, 2023. With 73 brand-new guest rooms, a large bath offering panoramic views of Lake Shirakaba, and a food hall-style hotel dining area, we welcome you in our renewed form.

The spring quality is a sulfate spring containing calcium and sodium. You can enjoy natural Onsen in all baths except the cold water bath. The infinity open-air bath features a mixed-gender area, allowing families to enjoy together.
Both dinner and breakfast are served buffet-style. Enjoy a variety of seasonal flavors featuring Japanese, Western, Chinese, and ethnic cuisines, with a focus on local ingredients.
An indoor Onsen town, "Shirakaba Nakamise," showcasing the charm of Shinshu. Enjoy local sake, wine, and craft beer directly from breweries, along with shops offering fresh local ingredients from farms and ranches. Indulge in Shinshu's sweets and delicacies while exploring traditional crafts exhibits and a festival corner.
