Relax your body and mind at the Onsen Sumata with the romantic charm of the Taisho era.

A Property with a Taisho Romantic atmosphere, offering a serene and mature ambiance with an Onsen. Known as the "Bath of Beauty," the unique silky waters of Sumatakyo Onsen will relax both your body and mind as soon as you immerse yourself. Enjoy seasonal flavors featuring the local mountain and river delicacies of Sumatakyo, including the famous "Wild Boar Hot Pot," paired with Shizuoka's local sake. Additionally, the Oku-Oi region, surrounded by the majestic Southern Alps, boasts numerous attractions such as the "Dream Suspension Bridge" and the "SL Railway," making it a delightful destination for sightseeing.

  • With its waterwheel at the entrance and spacious, relaxing lobby, this Ryokan has the calm, dignified atmosphere of a long-established inn. In the guest rooms, you are welcomed by the gentle aroma of tea from an incense burner, and throughout the stay you’ll find thoughtful touches unique to Shizuoka’s renowned tea culture—such as complimentary chilled tea in the bath area and tea shabu-shabu served with meals. The staff were kind and pleasant everywhere from the front desk to the dining room, allowing us to enjoy a truly unhurried stay. The shop also had an appealing selection of items.
