    This was my fourth stay.I love the relaxing Onsen.The meals don’t use particularly expensive ingredients, but they’re thoughtfully prepared, and the simmered dishes and dressed side dishes are especially delicious. This time, the salt-grilled amago trout was also excellent—I ordered two extra fish and was completely satisfied.

  • A Historic Ryokan in a Secluded Hidden Retreat

    With its waterwheel at the entrance and spacious, relaxing lobby, this Ryokan has the calm, dignified atmosphere of a long-established inn. In the guest rooms, you are welcomed by the gentle aroma of tea from an incense burner, and throughout the stay you’ll find thoughtful touches unique to Shizuoka’s renowned tea culture—such as complimentary chilled tea in the bath area and tea shabu-shabu served with meals. The staff were kind and pleasant everywhere from the front desk to the dining room, allowing us to enjoy a truly unhurried stay. The shop also had an appealing selection of items.

    If you plan to visit the Yume no Tsuribashi (Dream Suspension Bridge), please check the opening hours for the Sumatakyo Promenade Course.

    From Sunday, August 31, 2026 to Sunday, December 6, 2026
    　7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:00 PM)

    Outside the hours above, the gate will be closed and entry will not be permitted.

    - Hours may be extended or shortened depending on the season and weather conditions.
    - From Monday, December 7, 2026 onward, opening hours will change.
    Planned: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
    - It takes about 30–40 minutes one way on foot along the promenade trail from Suikoen to Yume no Tsuribashi.
    To allow enough time for your return, last entry is typically 90–120 minutes before gate closing.
    - During busy periods, waiting times may be up to approximately 120 minutes.
    - During busy periods, Yume no Tsuribashi may become one-way only.
    - The promenade course includes steep downhill sections and a steep staircase with 304 steps.
    - Please wear comfortable walking shoes.
    - Please enjoy at a pace that suits your physical condition and fitness level.

    For visiting Yume no Tsuribashi, early morning through late morning is recommended.

◆If arriving by train
From Kanaya Station, the starting station of the Oigawa Railway SL, it takes 1 hour and 10 minutes to Senzu Station, then a 40-minute bus ride to Sumatakyo Onsen, alight at the onsen entrance, and walk 1 minute.
