At Oyado Tsuruya, instead of the traditional long-stay cure, we offer a modern Onsen retreat that fits into a weekend. Our waters are a milky-white “Silk Bath,” known as one of the gentlest in Shirahone Onsen, with an exceptionally smooth feel on the skin. We provide an easy-to-follow bathing guide even for first-time guests, and suggest ways to enjoy the baths to suit your needs—along with moments of relaxation in our post-bath lounge—so that simply staying here helps you reset. Unwind body and mind tightened by everyday busyness, and experience how much lighter you can feel with a one-night, two-day stay.
The Onsen was truly wonderful, just as rumored. Despite being a secluded hot spring, the meals were excellent and the hospitality was genuinely pleasant.
Relaxed and enjoyed the Onsen at a leisurely pace. The quality of the spring water was excellent, and both the indoor and open-air baths were delightful. It was an incredibly luxurious experience. The Shinshu salmon and Shinshu beef were delicious. The fresh spring water drawn from the rocks was also very tasty, and I had some to take with me. This accommodation truly embodies heartfelt hospitality. I would love to visit this accommodation again.

Unfiltered hot spring water, generously supplied straight from the source
Tsuruya’s Onsen is a 100% free-flowing natural hot spring, continuously fed from our own private source. With its milky-white hue, the color may change depending on natural factors such as the day’s weather and the number of guests. Unusually for a cloudy white Onsen, it is nearly neutral in pH and rich in sulfur and carbon dioxide components, offering one of the gentlest feels on the skin in Shirahone Onsen. Look forward to each day’s unique “expression” of the water and its silky-smooth touch.
All Rooms at our property face the mountain stream. Open the windows to take in the untouched forest and let the gentle murmur of the river flow into your Room. Please enjoy Shirahone’s scenery in every season.
We offer kaiseki cuisine featuring an abundance of seasonal flavors, centered on ingredients from Shinshu. For the main hot dish, enjoy a tasting comparison of Shinshu beef and Hida beef. Savor each carefully crafted course, prepared with the chef’s skilled technique.

Matsumoto City will introduce an accommodation tax effective for stays from June 1, 2026.
Accordingly, guests staying at our property will be required to pay the accommodation tax in addition to the room rate.
