An elegant Japanese-style retreat, quietly nestled with views of Lake Suwa.

Hamanoyu, a long-established Onsen Ryokan, is located in the heart of Kamisuwa Onsen. Enjoy authentic kaiseki cuisine featuring seafood delivered directly from Toyosu Market and seasonal Shinshu ingredients—an exceptional dining experience you won’t find elsewhere. Its convenient location is also a highlight, about a 5-minute walk to JR Kamisuwa Station and Lake Suwa. Spend a relaxing time by the shores of Lake Suwa.

  • Because we would be checking in late after watching the Takigi Noh performance at Misogi Shrine, we stayed for one night with breakfast only (no dinner). The Facility felt a bit dated in some details, but it was clean and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and welcomed and saw us off with wonderful smiles. The Nishikigoi carp and turtles swimming in the indoor pond also helped soothe our travel fatigue. We would love to stay again.Thank you very much.

  • We stayed as a family on a breakfast-only Plan. Although the Accommodation seemed to have quite a lot of Rooms, it never felt overly crowded, including the large public bath, so we were able to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen. With both the main bath and the open-air bath, the total area is spacious and comfortable.Breakfast was exactly what you’d expect from a Ryokan breakfast, and we were very satisfied. The koi and turtles swimming in the lobby were wonderful. Keeping such a large building clean and well maintained must be challenging, but we would love to stay again.
