Hotel Sosei Sapporo MGallery Collection

The design of the Hotel is themed as "A 21st-century rebirth of a pioneer-era residence," reimagining the sights seen by the pioneers of that time in a modern way. At the entrance, guests are greeted by a three-dimensional sculpture inspired by "hops," a key ingredient in beer, as a tribute to the history of pioneering. Additionally, "Japanese rose" (Rosa rugosa), which was used in the creation of the perfume industry, is incorporated into the interior design as a motif to honor their delicate craftsmanship. The essence of Sapporo's cultural enlightenment and the history of the Sosei East area, known as the birthplace of Japanese beer crafted by Japanese hands, is interwoven throughout the Hotel.

Founded in 1876 (Meiji 9) as the Sapporo Kaitakushi Beer Brewery, the site of the former Sapporo Beer Factory has a rich history. On this historic ground, Sapporo Factory opened its doors in April 1993. "Sapporo Kaitakushi Beer Brewery" In 1876 (Meiji 9), Japanese brewers who had studied brewing techniques in Germany established the Kaitakushi Beer Brewery, the predecessor of Sapporo Beer. This was the first place in Japan where authentic German-style beer was brewed by Japanese hands. Now transformed into Sapporo Factory, the "Sapporo Kaitakushi Beer Brewery" continues to brew beer in one corner of the facility, following the traditional methods of the time. At Hotel Sosei Sapporo MGallery Collection, we serve Kaitakushi Beer, still brewed at the Sapporo Kaitakushi Beer Brewery, in our bar lounge.
