This Hotel is located on the site of the former Shirakawa Elementary School in Kyoto, which closed in 2011 and has over 100 years of academic history since its establishment as an elementary school. Surrounded by cultural landmarks such as Heian Shrine, ROHM Theatre Kyoto, and The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, this location offers a unique blend of vibrant tourist attractions and the authentic daily life of Kyoto residents. Our goal is to create a Hotel where guests can experience the traditions and culture of Kyoto beyond just staying overnight. The interior design is crafted by Nomura Co., Ltd., combining the elegance of Japanese aesthetics with modern functionality. From guest rooms that balance traditional beauty with contemporary comfort to a courtyard and cultural activities deeply rooted in Kyoto's heritage, we provide an environment where every moment becomes part of your journey at this one-of-a-kind Hotel.
All the staff were kind and welcoming, and their gentle service made me very happy.The room had tasteful, chic decor, was quiet, and the large bath felt like a luxury.Breakfast was delicious as well—I was extremely satisfied.It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but it was great for a peaceful stay.
yotacienda 7/17/2026I stayed here with my mother.We stayed for two nights, and we truly appreciated the complimentary upgrade from a Superior Twin Room to a Deluxe Room.We enjoyed having beer at the restaurant, soaking in the foot bath, and chatting with American tourists—it was such a happy, relaxing time.The Room was clean, luxurious, and very calming. The bathroom was spacious as well, so I could fully stretch out and soak comfortably. Everything we needed was provided—no complaints at all. The staff were kind, and their greetings were warm and pleasant.I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.
