A property resembling an art museum, featuring 12 villas themed around eight materials: soil, stone, plaster, wood, lacquer, Japanese paper, glass, and iron, along with natural onsen. At the foot of the Suzuka Mountain Range, in a hot spring area that has healed people since ancient times, immerse yourself in the power of nature and enjoy delicious and nutritious meals made from natural ingredients.

  • A spacious, stylish Room. The lush green trees seen through the large windows were wonderful. The open-air bath had excellent water quality and the temperature was just right—so relaxing. All of the staff were very kind and lovely. We chose the counter kappo dining, and each dish prepared right in front of us and served with plating and explanations was deeply flavorful and delicious. With the Shuttle Service, we also visited Aquaignis, where we fully enjoyed the large public bath, spa treatments, bread, desserts—everything. At the summit of Mt. Gozaisho (reached by ropeway), it was a bit cooler and perfect for a pleasant walk.I’d love to visit again in a different season. If we choose another Room that caught our interest and select different meals, it feels like it would be a completely different trip. Though honestly, the counter kappo was so good that we might choose it again. My mother was also very happy. Thank you very much. The breakfast rice, grilled nori seaweed, and local chicken miso soup were especially delicious.

  • Every Room is comfortable, and the Onsen is outstanding. It had been a little while since our last stay, but the warm hospitality from the experienced staff was a pleasure. We had dinner at HINOMORI again this time. They carefully prepare creative dishes using fresh, high-quality ingredients—an excellent selection of wonderful cuisine. The three staff members work as a great team, so service is smooth. They also kindly answer even amateur questions about ingredients and cooking methods. Thanks to them, our family meals become richer every time we visit. On our second-to-last visit, my daughter learned how to make karasumi and was able to make it herself. As always, the dishes are made with great care to bring out the best in each ingredient. We were very satisfied again this time. The points mentioned in Reviews—such as about the Room—had been improved. It’s around our eighth stay now; this is an Accommodation we love where we can always relax with peace of mind.

Notice from the Accommodation

  • [Room Renovation] A New Private Sauna Is Here

At Yunoyama Sosuikyo, we have newly introduced saunas in the guest rooms “Kinotoki” and “Sekiro.”
A furniture-quality sauna, “kupu sauna,” created through a three-way collaboration between the renowned furniture maker Maruni Wood Industry, product designer Wataru Kumano, and ONE SAUNA.
This marks the world’s first installation in an Accommodation.

    ■A Sosuikyo-exclusive sauna experience
The new saunas have been added to two standalone guest rooms: “Kinotoki,” themed around wood, and “Sekiro,” themed around stone.
To match each room’s concept, Kinotoki features a hinoki cold plunge bath, while Sekiro offers an approximately 2-ton stone cold plunge bath carved from a massive block of Komono stone quarried locally in Komono Town.
For the cold plunge baths, we use underground water springing from the Suzuka Mountains. Rich in natural minerals refined over more than 100 years by nature itself, this celebrated water lets you fully experience nature’s blessings.

■Hojicha löyly made with local tea leaves from Yokkaichi Mizusawa
Featuring a distinctive half-dome curved structure, kupu sauna creates a one-of-a-kind sensation: during löyly, steam circulates along the dome’s inner curves and gently falls onto your back.
At Sosuikyo, you can enjoy hojicha löyly made with tea leaves from Mizusawa Town in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture—an area known for its tea production. We lavishly use aromatic first-flush tea leaves for a deeper sense of relaxation with the toasty fragrance of roasted green tea.

    ■About kupu sauna
Founded in Hiroshima in 1928, Maruni Wood Industry has championed the “industrialization of craftsmanship,” creating products beloved by architects and designers worldwide. To apply woodworking expertise cultivated through furniture-making to the extreme environment of saunas—exposed to heat and steam—product designer Wataru Kumano (head of design office kumano) joined forces with ONE SAUNA, which brings know-how in thermal engineering and experiential design for sauna development.
The result is “kupu sauna,” combining furniture-level finishing precision with functional beauty and sculptural form designed by a product designer.
This kupu sauna is built on the concept of locally sourced production using Yoshino hinoki cypress from Nara. Its soft feel and resistance to overheating are brought out to their fullest through furniture-quality craftsmanship.
