All guest rooms feature open-air baths with ocean views, offering a prime location overlooking the Izu Islands, including Izu Oshima floating in the Pacific Ocean. At our restaurant, we use seafood from Sagami Bay and carefully selected ingredients from Izu to offer creative Western course menus, Japanese kaiseki-style courses, and shabu-shabu courses. Drinks at the restaurant, lounge access at the café terrace, and in-room refrigerator items are included in the accommodation rate, allowing you to enjoy a comfortable resort stay with magnificent views.
We stayed from August 1 to 2 for my girlfriend’s birthday trip. From the moment you step into the Hotel, you’re overwhelmed by the incredible setting—this alone is more than satisfying! The Hotel is kept beautifully clean, and the stunning views throughout are truly soothing. The amenities are well stocked, and the food is unbelievably delicious—everything feels exceptionally fulfilling. During meals, the staff always watched the timing and brought each dish at just the right moment, and they even helped us celebrate her birthday. Every member of staff was genuinely wonderful, and we were grateful from start to finish.It became an unforgettable birthday trip. Thank you so much—we’ll definitely stay again!
AKIRA.U 8/4/2026Starting this July, my mother, my sister, and I decided to take a family trip once a month, and we chose this Hotel for our first one. There are so many wonderful Accommodations with Onsen in Izu that it was hard to decide, but since my sister and I love drinks, we were drawn to the all-inclusive plan. In reality, we couldn’t make it in time for the lounge (it’s open until 5:00 PM), so we weren’t able to use it at length. However, drinks, juice, ice cream, and more were also available in relaxing areas near our Room and by the large public bath area, and we were very satisfied with the wide variety of drinks at dinner as well. Our whole family loves taking photos, and a staff member kindly took pictures of us in the lobby—my mother was thrilled. It turned into an amazing family trip, and we would definitely love to visit again if we have the chance!

The Izu Kitagawa Onsen Moon Road has been recognized as one of Japan’s 100 Best Moonscapes, a beautiful full moon to be preserved for future generations.

Akakura Kanko Hotel
Akakura Kanko Hotel was founded in 1937. Built by the Okura zaibatsu of the time following the Kamikochi Imperial Hotel and Kawana Hotel, it is a pioneering Resort Hotel in Japan. The Hotel stands at an altitude of 1,000 meters, and a sea of clouds may spread out below. Along with its timeless appeal since opening, all guest rooms and the Japanese restaurant were renovated in 2008. What kind of hygiene management is being conducted?
At our Hotel, we have implemented measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure a safe and comfortable stay for both guests and staff. We are taking the following actions:
- All staff check their temperature before work. Staff with a temperature of 37.0°C or higher are assessed for cold-like symptoms and fitness for duty; staff with a temperature of 37.5°C or higher are not permitted to work. In addition, staff wash their hands regularly both upon arrival and during working hours. - Frequently touched surfaces in public areas—such as elevators, handrails, automatic doors, tables, and chairs—are regularly disinfected with alcohol-based sanitizer or hypochlorous acid water. - During guestroom cleaning, windows are opened for ventilation, and rooms are cleaned and disinfected using hypochlorous acid water. - Each guestroom is equipped with a Plasmacluster air ion generator. - Alcohol-based sanitizer or hypochlorous acid water is available near the front desk and at the restaurant entrance. - Seating in the restaurant is arranged with at least 1 meter between tables or separated by partitions. - Restaurant blankets are loaned out only after disinfection. - Please observe proper cough etiquette. - Please use the alcohol-based sanitizer or hypochlorous acid water as needed. - If you have a fever of 37.5°C or higher, cough, body aches, or other symptoms, please refrain from visiting our Hotel.
