Classical modern elegance wrapped in emotion. A place where people who love the magnificent nature of Myoko in every season gather. On December 26, 2016, the newly constructed "Premium Wing" opened! The Akakura Kanko Resort Hotel was founded in 1937 (Showa 12). Built by the Okura Zaibatsu following the Kamikochi Imperial Hotel and Kawana Hotel, it is a pioneer among Japan's Resort Hotels. The Hotel is located at an altitude of 1,000 meters, where a sea of clouds can sometimes be seen below. In addition to the timeless charm since its founding, all rooms and the Japanese restaurant were renovated in 2008. Furthermore, on December 12, 2009, a large public bath with open-air baths, a spa salon, and guest rooms with open-air Onsen were newly opened. Maintaining its historical and elegant atmosphere and the spirit of hospitality cultivated through tradition, the Hotel offers an even more comfortable and relaxing environment.

    We stayed for two nights.The views from the Room and the Onsen were wonderful, and it was very comfortable.We requested the premium dinner for both the French and Japanese meals, and everything was delicious, with carefully prepared dishes using seasonal ingredients.The weather wasn’t great, but even so, it was a lovely stay.

  • Although the daytime...

    Although the daytime heat was not much different from Tokyo, the mornings were much cooler, with a pleasant breeze, and we felt refreshed while enjoying the magnificent views. The meals (kaiseki and French cuisine) were excellent, and we were able to enjoy them at a relaxed pace. In particular, the breakfast buffet was of very high quality; it was clear that each dish was carefully prepared and served, which we truly appreciated. The Onsen with yuno-hana floating throughout was also wonderful and very relaxing. The private family bath was very easy to use as well. We played tennis and rode the cable car to enjoy the swings, and even our older children had a great time. This is an Accommodation we would like to continue cherishing for years to come. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

A total of 13 Rooms with open-air Onsen baths on the terrace are now available. We offer three types of Rooms suitable for 2 to 4 guests. On the terrace, you can fully enjoy the natural flowing Onsen.

Additionally, one of the highlights of this Hotel is the delicious variety of breads and cakes. You can also observe the meticulous baking process at the bakery within the Hotel. How wonderful it is to enjoy authentic desserts atop a mountain like this! Savoring delicious desserts on the terrace with a stunning view is truly exceptional.

With a chic design in calm tones, the environment is set up for maximum comfort. The "Terrace Room with Open-Air Onsen," opened on December 12, 2009, offers expansive views from the deck terrace with an open-air Onsen bath, and the Onsen features natural hot spring water available anytime.

Winter roads on the Joshinetsu Expressway and general roads require studless tires or tire chains.
Additionally, the slope leading to the Property is impassable without a four-wheel-drive vehicle due to snow and ice.
