A restorative journey to experience the rich nature and spirit of Ise-Shima

Overlooking the calm Ago Bay, renowned for pearl cultivation, and set within Ise-Shima National Park adjacent to Ise Jingu Shrine—often called the spiritual home of the Japanese heart—Amanemu awaits. “Amanemu” is named from the Sanskrit “aman,” meaning “peaceful,” and the Japanese “nemu” (合歓), meaning “joy.” It is a secluded retreat where abundant nature, deep spirituality, and wellness come together in beautiful harmony. With mineral-rich natural Onsen, spa and wellness experiences that heal and cleanse body and mind, and exquisite cuisine showcasing the rich bounty of Ise-Shima—once known as Miketsukuni—we offer a stay that brings profound peace and renewal befitting one of Japan’s most sacred destinations. Each Amanemu Accommodation includes dinner and breakfast for one night, plus one private experience unique to Ise-Shima. Whether visiting Ise Jingu Shrine or an ama hut, cruising Ago Bay, crafting with pearls, or taking part in waterfall meditation training, you can immerse yourself in the area’s nature and culture. Surrounded by silence, birdsong, and beautiful forest-and-sea views, your time here becomes more than a simple getaway—it is a journey of purification and rebirth that restores mind and body, invites you to face your inner self, and helps you feel connected to Japan’s spiritual traditions.

  • I stayed at Amanemu, which I’d been curious about for some time, as my Accommodation for an Ise pilgrimage. The hospitality began right from the Shuttle Service at Kashikojima Station, and it immediately made me excited. The Facility was just as wonderful as I had imagined. For dinner, we enjoyed a set course in the dining room—delicious dishes that made the most of local ingredients, including spiny lobster and Matsusaka beef—and we ended up lingering so long we lost track of time.On the second day, we went to the thermal springs and the pool I’d been looking forward to. Both offered different atmospheres and views—it truly felt like heaven! Maybe it was just luck, but both were almost completely private. The pool butler was also very pleasant, and after we got out of the pool, they took us by cart straight to the thermal springs. On the way back, however, one female staff member drove a bit roughly and it made me nervous—so that’s my only small deduction.Even so, it was an outstanding Hotel in terms of both facilities and hospitality. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

  • We stayed here for a very special occasion—my proposal. From the moment we arrived, we felt transported from everyday life: the view of Ago Bay from our Room, the tranquility that enveloped the entire property, and the soothing Onsen made our stay truly unforgettable. We had consulted with you in advance about a few things, and every staff member supported us with great care from preparation through the day itself. We are sincerely grateful for each thoughtful touch—the Room decorations and flowers, the message plate at dinner, help with taking photos, and even arranging delivery of the flowers after our stay. There were moments when our planning fell short and we made last-minute requests, but you still supported us warmly, allowing us to spend this important time with complete peace of mind. Thanks to you, I was able to propose successfully, creating a memory we will cherish for a lifetime. The Accommodation itself is wonderful, but what truly made this stay so special was your team’s attentive hospitality. We would love to return again for an anniversary or another celebration. Thank you very much.
