A tranquil private home nestled in a birch forest retreat, offering a soothing moment as you soak in milky-white hot spring waters.

Nestled slightly away from the Shirahone Onsen town, enjoy a tranquil and peaceful stay. Surrounded by the seasonal beauty of birch forests, indulge in luxurious moments with our renowned therapeutic hot springs. Relish exquisite kaiseki cuisine crafted with care by our head chef and unwind in unique rooms relocated from traditional Japanese houses. Experience a one-of-a-kind retreat that soothes your soul and offers a truly relaxing time.

  • This was my first time staying at Shirahone Onsen.Given the staffing shortage, I think it would be helpful to more actively introduce systems that encourage self-service—for example, placing call bells and water in the dining area. In many situations, a brief note or explanation would make things clear. The Onsen atmosphere was excellent, just as reputed.

  • This was my first return in eight years.I had been hoping to visit that bath again someday, and chose this Accommodation because it is close to the Shin-Hotaka Ropeway, our destination. The amazake and oyaki served at check-in were delicious. I wanted to buy some to take home, but they said they are not for sale, which was very disappointing. (I also couldn’t find them at the roadside station they recommended.)Compared with before, the dining area has been updated with tables and chairs, and the meals also felt upgraded. The attendants were all Japanese and provided courteous service. The open-air bath is now by reservation, so it was nice not having to go check for availability. To reach Zaboan and the baths, you need to climb a long staircase, which may be difficult for guests with mobility issues. I recommend staying at Zaboan while you are still able-bodied.Since this is a standalone house-style Accommodation, it would be nice if there were a vending machine on site.

  • Escape to a cool retreat on hot days.

    How is everyone doing?

In the coming season, many hot days are expected.

Shirahone Onsen, where our property is located, sits at an elevation of about 1,400 m and is said to be around 6–8°C cooler than Matsumoto City (about 600 m).

It feels especially cool in the shade, and in our guest rooms you can stay comfortable with just a fan.

Why not soothe your everyday fatigue with high-quality Onsen waters and a pleasant summer retreat?
