A Japanese-modern Ryokan where you can enjoy Kusatsu’s rare hot spring source, “Wata-no-Yu”

At Kusatsu Onsen, there is a hot spring source called "Wata no Yu." The water is soft and gentle, with a milky white color reminiscent of cotton. When you immerse yourself in the "Kusatsu Hotel Annex Wata no Yu," your body and mind will be warmed and healed to the core.

  • It was my first visit in a while, and once again the Onsen was wonderful—I thoroughly enjoyed soaking in two different natural hot spring sources. The meals were delicious and very satisfying. The guests were considerate, and it was very quiet, so I could truly relax. The staff were kind as well, and I recommend this place to anyone who likes a small, cozy property. Thank you for taking such good care of me. I will visit again.

  • The location is outstanding. It’s quiet, with the soothing sound of the river at just the right volume. The Room is easy to use and very comfortable. The Onsen, of course, was wonderful. I was also impressed by how pleasant the changing area felt afterward, as well as the barley tea and water provided. The meals were delicious. I may have overeaten and had a bit too much salt, but that’s on me. I’m glad I got to enjoy a variety of tasty local specialties from Joshu.
