  • It was my first time back in Yufuin in about 40 years. It has now become a famous Onsen destination visited by many people, and since this Accommodation is located in an area popular with tourists, I was a little worried it might be noisy. However, once I stepped inside, a calm space opened up that made me forget the bustle outside. This time we stayed in a Room with an open-air bath. Perhaps because the building is relatively new, everything—including the shower room—was kept very clean and well maintained, and we were able to relax comfortably throughout our stay. The meals were also very carefully prepared, with an ideal portion size and excellent quality that even we, as an elderly couple, could fully enjoy. The staff kindly helped us choose drinks as well, and we enjoyed their recommended delicious sake. The location is outstanding too—right across from Snoopy Town and just a short walk to Lake Kinrin. We were fortunate to find such a wonderful Accommodation on our long-awaited return to Yufuin. It has become one of our favorite places to stay, and we would love to return again when we visit Yufuin. Thank you very much.

  • We were completely satisfied with everything at Soan Cosmos—hospitality, cuisine, baths, and the Room. It was our first sightseeing trip in a while as a couple, and we were blessed with great weather. We walked from Soan to Yufuin Station and took a horse-drawn carriage there. The one-hour ride was a wonderful experience and has become a cherished memory. If you’re visiting Yufuin, I highly recommend Soan Cosmos. At the station, we also saw the Seven Stars in Kyushu and another train, which made us think that a train journey might be nice next time as well.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Detached house

The four seasons reflected on snow-viewing shoji... A fusion of traditional Japanese techniques and Mr. Mitooka's modern design.

Traditional Japanese-style rooms in Yufuin, enhanced with the design of Mr. Mitooka, offer increased comfort and modernity.

Onsen
Healing hot springs, all baths use natural spring water.

There is also an open-air bath in the large public bath.

Cuisine
Experience the whispers of the seasons, discover the whispers of ingredients, and deliver the voice of cuisine with our creative Kaiseki cuisine.

The Yufuin Onsen in the mountain village has a unique rhythm—the rhythm of the fields, the seasons, and the ingredients. By listening closely to this rhythm, understanding what each ingredient aspires to be, and reflecting their silent voices in our dishes—this is the essence of Akisou's cuisine.
