A tranquil 23-room Onsen Ryokan in Kinosaki, offering seasonal kaiseki cuisine while overlooking the garden.

A serene retreat surrounded by the fragrance of wood. A good journey, cherished memories, and time flowing gently. Tokiwabekkan is located in a tranquil area of Kinosaki Onsen, away from the bustling hot spring town. Originally situated in the town center, we relocated to this peaceful location to create a relaxing environment surrounded by gardens. The accommodation is entirely wooden and consists of just 23 rooms, ensuring personal attention from the host. Enjoy soaking in the onsen, admiring the garden views, and savoring our unique cuisine. We prioritize simplicity over extravagance and aim to provide an unobtrusive yet thoughtful experience. Hearing "I had a relaxing stay" is our greatest joy as an accommodation provider.

  • The hospitality was outstanding. From check-in to check-out, the staff were consistently attentive. Especially at checkout, they even wiped the car windows. It had rained the night before, so the windows may have been dirty, but this was the first time anyone has ever done that for me—I was truly impressed. Both the quality and quantity of the meals were very satisfying. Dinner featured a duck hot pot as the main dish, along with plenty of extras such as sashimi and Kasumi crab (benizuwai crab). Everything was delicious. If I had to mention anything, it would be that the Ryokan’s bath is small and it’s a bit away from the center of town. Personally, I enjoyed walking around while exploring and visiting different public baths, and they also said they could drive guests there upon request. As for the small bath at the Ryokan, I think it works well if you make use of the public baths too while still enjoying what’s available on-site. I would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much for everything.

  • Although it is a little away from the main Onsen district, this Accommodation had a quiet, secluded feel that made for a truly relaxing stay. The front entrance and exterior felt a bit plain, but once inside, the calm, refined lobby and lounge space opened up and immediately lifted my spirits. The view of the Japanese garden from the Room was wonderful, and dinner served in the Room was delicious—best of all, it was very generous in portion size. Both the roast beef and sashimi were cut thick as well. The beer, sake, and coffee service in the lounge was another welcome highlight. Above all, every staff member was polite and attentive while keeping a comfortable sense of distance, which I really appreciated. Since this stay was in summer, I would love to return again in a different season.
