About a 1-minute walk from Yubatake, enjoy the architectural style from the Edo period along with Kusatsu's renowned hot springs.
The "segai-dashi beam construction" creates a beautiful landscape with large white walls and black beams. It recreates the traditional architectural style that has been passed down since the Edo period when it was founded. From the moment you step through the entrance, you are welcomed by a space with a pure Japanese atmosphere. A quiet time flows within the facility, making it hard to believe it's in the center of an Onsen town.
You can enjoy the gentle Yubatake Onsen in the calm, refined atmosphere of a long-established Ryokan. The food is delicious, but above all, the staff are exceptionally kind. Every visit leaves me impressed by their outstanding service. At check-out, the gracious proprietress sees you off with great care, and you can truly feel how her attentiveness is reflected throughout the entire team.
It was my first stay in 20 years, and it was a truly wonderful experience. While the property shows the charm of age, everything was meticulously cleaned, and there were no issues at all. Two things especially stood out to me. First, the staff service: they never stopped smiling, and their attentive hospitality—anticipating guests’ needs in a pleasant way—was impressive. The international staff were also well trained, and I could really feel the pride and strength of this long-established Ryokan. Second, the cuisine: rather than being overly formal or delicately subtle, it was thoughtfully crafted with a strong focus on quality within budget, offering a well-balanced menu with clear contrasts in flavor. It paired wonderfully with both sake and rice, and I could truly feel their spirit of hospitality. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

Yubatake Gensen
We source the precious "Yubatake Spring" directly from Yubatake, the main attraction of Kusatsu. Our facility is located in a prime location, just a 1-minute walk from Yubatake, allowing us to pour the spring water into our baths in its best condition without any deterioration in quality due to exposure to air.
Sukiya-zukuri
The rooms are traditional Japanese-style rooms with sukiya architecture. There are two sides: the atmospheric Takishita Street side and the nature-filled garden side, each offering a unique charm.
Joshu Kaiseki
The cuisine is a kaiseki meal that abundantly incorporates fresh seafood, vegetables, and seasonal ingredients sourced from the whole country, as well as local Joshu produce.
Traditional Japanese-style space
From the moment you step into the entrance of Osakaya, you will be welcomed by a space with a pure Japanese style. A quiet time flows through the building, making it hard to believe that it is in the center of an Onsen town.
1 minute walk to Yubatake
A landmark of Kusatsu, the "Yubatake" with its billowing steam is just a 1-minute walk away. You can easily visit the fantastically lit-up Yubatake at night in your yukata. It is a convenient location that ensures peace of mind for elderly guests and small children.
A manga Room, “Mangado,” has opened on the first floor of Osakaya and has been very well received.
It is available free of charge. You may also take the books to your Room to read.
We hope you enjoy it.
If you have any allergies or foods you cannot eat, please contact us by phone before your arrival.
We will do our best to accommodate your needs. Tel: 0279-88-2411
At this Ryokan, all cooking is done in a single kitchen, so there is a possibility that allergens such as wheat flour, eggs, and shellfish may be present during processing, cooking, or serving.
