Sumiyoshiya Nozawaonsen
Nagano Prefecture/NozawaA long-established inn founded in the Meiji era, standing right in front of the natural monument “Asagama”
Nozawa Onsen, where the lives of villagers thrive, exudes a unique atmosphere and charm filled with warmth. Traditional festivals and 13 natural hot spring public baths are carefully preserved, retaining the essence of a bygone era. The village's landmark, "Ogama," features 90-degree hot spring water, bustling with villagers boiling Nozawana greens, eggs, and wild vegetables. Sumiyoshiya, located right in front, boasts a clean and elegant appearance, preserving the Meiji-era hot spring ambiance, and is a long-established inn with a history of 140 years.
This was my first stay. The Onsen is hot, but it warms you up wonderfully. The meals were beautifully presented, and even the simple dishes served in small bowls were delicious. I was completely satisfied with every dish. The Facility has many stairs, so it’s a good workout for your legs, and the hallways are lined with one painting after another—making even the long corridors enjoyable!! All of the staff were very kind as well. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us!!
かこかこ カッコウ! 7/16/2026This is our favorite accommodation, and we visit almost every year. However, this was our first time staying during the autumn foliage season. The colorful leaves around the accommodation were truly stunning, and it made me appreciate that this area is connected to Tatsuyuki Takano, who wrote the lyrics for the song "Momiji" (Autumn Leaves). This time, we also had the chance to see locals boiling vegetables at Asagama, which gave us a deep sense of hometown autumn and left us very satisfied. Every time we stay here, the delicious meals and high-quality hot springs help rejuvenate us. Additionally, all of the staff are incredibly pleasant and attentive to every detail. We look forward to coming again next year!
