Savor the seasonal flavors unique to this area while enjoying the expansive countryside views.

Property Kuraya Hachijuhachi, named after the character 'Rice', began by creating rice fields within its premises. Through rice cultivation, we aim to connect with nature and foster a spirit of cooking that cherishes the seasons. The beautiful rice fields, showcasing the charm of each season, spread out in front of the lobby to warmly welcome you.

  • The food was delicious, and the service was pleasant. We were very satisfied with the gorge promenade and the Onsen. We would love to visit again in another season to enjoy seasonal cuisine, abundant Onsen, and a beautiful walk along the Tsusen-kyo gorge promenade.

  • We stay here every year—this was our third visit. The food is beautifully presented and delicious. What I appreciate most is being able to enjoy drinks in the lobby. The beer server, which wasn’t available until last year, was a welcome addition. We’ll be back again next year.

Meal example

Meal

At Kuriya Yaso Hachi, you can enjoy two dining styles: "Yasohachi Juumi," a traditional kaiseki meal served in a tatami room, or "Live Kaiseki," prepared and served at the counter. The menu changes monthly, with each dish carefully handcrafted by our chefs. We prepare everything from scratch without using chemical seasonings, ensuring meticulous attention to detail. Relax and savor your meal in either the elegant tatami room or at the lively counter seating in our restaurant district.
