A traditional yet modern Onsen Ryokan to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Nakaizu and Amagi.

At our Accommodation, our team includes not only Japanese staff but also staff from across Asia, each offering hospitality that draws on the best of their own cultures. We provide a relaxing space where you can unwind while enjoying the charm of different cultures. Loved by many literary figures since 1954 and known as a writers’ inn, the property has a calm, refined atmosphere. All Onsen baths—including the bath in your Room—are free-flowing directly from the source. After soaking in our open-air stone bath made from 53 tons of lava rock or our open-air wooden bath carved from a 1,200-year-old tree, enjoy our signature dishes featuring fresh seafood and mountain produce from Izu. A walk along the Amagi Promenade reveals timeless mountain-village scenery.

  • We stayed in the Ema Room. The Room was spacious, and both the lounge and all areas were spotless. We were very satisfied with the attentive service throughout. The in-room, free-flowing hot spring bath featured well-maintained tea plants—very Shizuoka—and the washing area shower was fully stocked with amenities. There was nothing to fault about this Accommodation. At dinner, we were surprised by how sweet the fresh wasabi was.We took a walk along Yunomichi, and the clear water gently flowing by was truly soothing. We will definitely return.

  • Thank you very much for your hospitality the other day.My wife and I made wonderful memories. We were also deeply grateful for the warm consideration shown by all of your staff. When I enter a guest room, I always read the Accommodation guide first. That guide booklet felt a bit outdated. Also, please consider revising the in-house map as well—it may be a little hard to understand. If we have another opportunity, we would like to stay with you again.

About Hygiene Measures
Shirakabe has established basic infection prevention policies based on the government's "New Lifestyle" guidelines. With the motto "Do not spread or catch infections," we will ensure thorough awareness among our staff and guests. 1. Please check your temperature on the day of travel. Inform us of your health condition on the day of travel. If you feel unwell, even slightly, please cancel your trip. 2. Always wear a mask and wash your hands during your trip. 3. Sanitize your hands when entering or exiting tourist facilities. 4. Dispose of used masks responsibly by yourself. 1. Hand sanitizers are placed at entrances and exits. 2. Guests will be encouraged to sanitize their hands upon entry and exit. 3. Sanitizers are available in dining areas and dressing rooms in public baths. 4. Dining tables are sanitized before and after meals with disinfectant spray. 5. Dining tables will be spaced at least 1 meter apart, avoiding face-to-face seating where possible by arranging seats side-by-side instead. 6. After regular cleaning of guest rooms, frequently touched areas will be disinfected as a final step. 7. Public restrooms may have limited access; guests are encouraged to use their Room's restroom whenever possible. 8. Staff members interacting with guests must wear masks; cleaning staff must wear both masks and disposable gloves, changing gloves as much as possible between cleaning tasks for different areas. 9. Bedding used by guests may carry viruses; therefore, staff handling bedding or replacing covers for futons/pillows will wear masks and gloves during these tasks. 10. Meals will primarily be served individually rather than shared dishes for groups. Shirakabe is committed to implementing these policies thoroughly among employees and partner companies to maximize infection prevention efforts with everyone's cooperation greatly appreciated!
