With over 160 years of history, enjoy 35 types of baths spread across 1,500 tsubo and five different spring qualities. About 160 years ago, the founder, Kinzo Takimoto, opened Noboribetsu Onsen to cure his wife’s skin condition. The waters passed down since the Edo period continue to soothe guests who come in search of healing even today. We welcome visitors with five spring qualities: sulfur springs, sodium bicarbonate springs, salt springs, Glauber’s salt springs, and acidic green vitriol springs. Japan has only ten recognized spring qualities—half of them can be enjoyed right here at our property. Bath-hopping is a journey of healing. Let us accompany you on an Onsen retreat to wash away everyday fatigue.

  • The bath was great.

    I stayed for one night in early September. It’s close to Jigokudani, and the Onsen was simply wonderful. There are many types of Onsen baths, and I really enjoyed them. We had the dinner and breakfast buffet, and I honestly wondered if it was really okay to have all-you-can-eat crab like this. The Japanese- and Western-style buffet was impressive, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you very much.

  • The pool is cold.\nEverything else is excellent.

    The pool is supposedly heated, but it was still quite cold, so my son—who gets chilly easily—couldn’t go in… But the open-air Onsen was amazing! Sipping a drink served on a tray while soaking in the open-air bath was the best. When ordering, you need to write your Room number, and since I didn’t remember mine, I couldn’t place my first order—so keep that in mind. We stayed in the South Wing; the Room was clean, and even the toothbrush amenities were made in Japan. They also provided a cute kids’ toothbrush. There was also an individually packaged Japanese-made facial care set included. We did a Multiple Night Stay with breakfast and dinner included, but one night might have been better as No Meals Included. Two days of buffet in a row was hard on our stomachs, and we couldn’t try any restaurants in the Onsen town… The buffet selection was also the same both days. Still, the Multiple Night Stay itself was really great. There were many international staff members, but everyone at this Accommodation was kind and helpful. We would love to stay again.

We offer five types of hot spring water: sulfur, sodium sulfate, acidic ferrous sulfate, sodium chloride, and sodium bicarbonate.
