Notice of the Introduction of the Accommodation Tax in Nasu Town

In Nasu Town, Tochigi Prefecture, an Accommodation Tax will be introduced starting Thursday, October 1, 2026.
The Accommodation Tax will be used to enhance the area’s appeal and promote tourism.

The Accommodation Tax per guest per night is as follows:
Less than JPY 10,000: JPY 100
JPY 10,000 to less than JPY 20,000: JPY 300
JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 30,000: JPY 500
JPY 30,000 to less than JPY 50,000: JPY 800
JPY 50,000 to less than JPY 100,000: JPY 1,500
JPY 100,000 or more: JPY 3,000
*For the purpose of the Accommodation Tax calculation, “Accommodation Fee” refers to the room-only rate and related charges such as the Service Fee. It does not include meal charges or consumption tax.
*Exemptions apply in the following cases:
- Guests under age 12
- School events involving an overnight stay (e.g., school trips):
Children/pupils/students and accompanying staff participating in school trips or other school events prescribed by regulations and organized by schools defined under Article 1 of the School Education Act (excluding universities).
*Submission of documentation proving participation in a school trip/event is required.
*The Accommodation Tax is not included in Reservation amounts made via our website or accommodation reservation sites. Please pay it separately on-site.
