Enjoy French cuisine and Onsen without worrying about time at an Auberge in Izu Kogen.

Auberge Le Temps is an accommodation that combines French cuisine and onsen, inspired by the French concept of a countryside restaurant with lodging. The main appeal lies in enjoying delicious meals paired with plenty of wine, followed by a restful sleep—a journey focused on "food." At Auberge Le Temps, we welcome you to experience this "culinary journey" with Chef Miwa's meticulously crafted French dishes, wines from our cellar, and private onsen facilities.

  • Blessed with fine weather and feeling well, my spouse and I were thoroughly satisfied with the beautifully crafted French dishes, each like a work of art. The location was excellent, and we fully enjoyed watching Mt. Fuji change color moment by moment through the window. The Ikeda 20th Century Museum of Art is also nearby, making it a wonderful day.

  • A one-night, two-day trip with my mother, who loves good food. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great, but just as the Reviews said, every dish was truly delicious, and the homegrown vegetables were crisp and wonderful. My mother was very satisfied as well. The bath was an Onsen that could be reserved for private use—spacious and relaxing. The building and furnishings also felt luxurious, allowing us to enjoy an elegant time. The chef and all the staff were friendly, so it didn’t feel like our first visit. We’d love to come again. Thank you very much.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Cuisine

This year, thanks to your continued support, our accommodation celebrates its 30th anniversary since opening in 1989. For three decades, we have embraced the concept of "local production for local consumption," creating memorable moments in the idyllic environment of Izu Kogen, surrounded by the sea and mountains. Today, suburban restaurants with accommodations—known as "auberges"—and establishments that grow their own seasonal ingredients are no longer uncommon. However, since our opening when this style was still rare, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to this philosophy. This milestone is a testament to your unwavering support over the years. As we are increasingly recognized as an established institution, we remain deeply grateful and committed to upholding the essence of "local production for local consumption," continuing to evolve while cherishing time-honored traditions. Experience the essence of cuisine that continues to evolve with time. With a theme of proposing new lifestyles through food, we quietly yet passionately create unforgettable moments. Our top chefs prepare dishes using fresh ingredients from the sea and mountains that cannot be experienced in metropolitan areas. From the moment you complete your reservation until you take your seat at our table, every moment becomes part of an extraordinary experience. Discover true bliss exclusively at Auberge Le Temps.

I was born and raised in Fukushima Prefecture. At the age of 18, I moved to Tokyo and began training at a restaurant in the city. Later, I had the honor of opening Auberge Lutin with Mr. Kaneo Takahashi, who retired from Surugatei in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City—a meeting that happened during my time in Tokyo. Back then, auberges were not as common in Japan as they are today. Now, 23 years have passed since those early days. Thanks to the support of local farmers, fishermen, and many others along the way, we have come this far. The Izu region is blessed with a mild climate, clean air and water, and an abundance of delicious ingredients. Moving forward, I am committed to creating dishes that embody the spirit of an auberge while cherishing the passion I felt when I first started cooking—always striving for excellence without forgetting where it all began…
