I stayed on the Club Floor for two nights, and it was very good. The location was convenient, and I was able to relax in the lounge.I would like to stay here again when I come to Otaru. However, the breakfast venue was a little hot.
It was convenient to take the JR train from New Chitose Airport to Otaru, and from the station you can walk there through the covered arcade. The canal is also within easy walking distance, and the former Bank of Japan Otaru Branch is nearby as well—great location.The Room was simple, and amenities such as hair ties were provided in the Room. However, the vanity area in the Room had a slight musty smell.The soup curry at breakfast was excellent. You can make your own Eggs Benedict, which our child really enjoyed. The vegetable salad was fresh, and the fruit—especially blueberries and plums—was very tasty.Since it was during summer vacation, there was a line for breakfast, so it’s best to go as early as possible.The night parfait on the 11th floor had a great atmosphere and looked adorable—we loved it—but it wasn’t clear whether certain time slots or a Reservation were required. It seems to be only for one hour starting at 8:00 PM, and making a Reservation is recommended.

Former Bank of Japan Otaru Branch
This Renaissance-style building, distinguished by five copper-roofed domes, stands partway up the gentle slope leading to the Otaru Canal. Designed by Kingo Tatsuno—known as the father of modern Japanese architecture and also responsible for landmark works such as Tokyo Station—it was completed in 1912. Unfortunately, the interior is not open to visitors, but its illuminated beauty glowing against the evening streetscape is truly captivating.
The Otaru Canal and brick warehouses
The 1,140-meter-long canal is a symbol of Otaru. Stroll along the cobblestone promenade while gazing at the water, and you’ll be immersed in the port town’s nostalgic charm, with rows of brick warehouses and retro gas lamps creating an exotic atmosphere. Once busy with ships coming and going, the canal now lies quietly still, carrying a sense of nostalgia on the sea breeze... Today it has become a stylish area lined with cafés and restaurants. Housed in a brick building built in 1912, we exhibit and sell about 10,000 music boxes of approximately 3,000 types from around the world.
