Founded in 1878, this long-established Hotel in Hakone blends timeless charm with modern functionality.
Established in 1878 as Japan's first full-scale Resort Hotel in Miyanoshita, Hakone, Fujiya Hotel began with a single Western-style building constructed by its founder, Sennosuke Yamaguchi. Over time, through numerous expansions and renovations, it has become a grand architectural symbol of Hakone. Having overcome many challenges, including natural disasters, much of the building was designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property in 1997. After more than two years of extensive renovations, the "new" Fujiya Hotel reopened in 2020. While preserving its timeless charm and design along with its spirit of hospitality, we continue to create new history as a pioneer among classic hotels to provide an even more comfortable and relaxing experience for our guests.
As soon as we arrived at the hotel and got out of the car, a staff member greeted us with “Welcome back,” and the wonderful hospitality continued from there. The guest room, service, facilities, and meals were all outstanding in every way. It’s a hotel I would love to stay at again and again.

We were delighted to receive a congratulatory message on the table, and another message with our dessert at dinner. In addition to the hot spring pool and the large public bath, the bath in our room was also fed by hot springs, so we fully enjoyed the onsen experience. The bed was extremely comfortable; although we had been busy and sleep-deprived, we slept soundly for eight hours and truly relaxed.On our way home, we bought a loaf of bread as a souvenir, and it was absolutely delicious—making it a perfect anniversary. As expected of Fujiya Hotel, it was an outstanding stay. We would love to visit again when we have the chance.

Main Building - Historic Junior Suite
Within a site of approximately 7,600 tsubo, we offer four distinct accommodation buildings: "Main Building," "Western Pavilion," "Flower Palace," and "Forest Wing." Each features its own unique charm and comfort. Choose your preferred room to suit your taste.

All rooms offer 100% natural Onsen water directly from the source when you turn on the tap. Enjoy a relaxing Onsen bath in your room's bathroom.

Hakone Hotel Fujiya Hotel Lake View Annex
