I was able to rest well on the fluffy futon, just as described in the Review. I expected a 4.5-tatami Room, but they provided a 6.5-tatami Room instead. It was great to have free drinks, and the bath was available from night through morning. The Facility was clean and uncluttered, which made me feel at ease.

We stayed at this ryokan to celebrate a birthday trip. I don’t often stay at ryokan, so I was a little nervous, but we were warmly welcomed with smiles upon arrival, which immediately put me at ease. I was also very happy to meet Kou-kun, the resident “signboard” dog. On this trip to Nagano, we had been really looking forward to staying here, so we checked in a bit early at 4:00 PM. Thanks to that, we were able to relax before dinner—enjoying the hot springs and taking our time. The building was very clean, and it felt like every corner was well cared for. The food was also delicious, and we enjoyed each dish while spending a wonderful time together. Everyone on the staff was so kind and welcoming, and I’m truly glad we chose this ryokan for our birthday celebration. Thank you for creating such special memories. We hope to meet Mya-chan next time as well, and would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

Even with self check-in, the process was smooth, and it was great that everything from the entrance to the room was clean. I was slightly concerned that the futon sheets came off easily and that the pillows were quite firm.

The host was kind, and I had a comfortable stay.

It was affordable while still ensuring privacy, and the 11:00 check-out allowed me to rest well. If I had to ask for one thing, I would have liked a fan in the Room until I cooled down after bathing, but the air conditioning works well.

We arrived around 5:30 pm, and everyone was hungry, so we asked if dinner could be served from 6:30 pm, and they kindly accommodated our request. First, the bath. The facilities were very clean, including the changing area. Dinner had many dishes and was delicious. A young man was in charge of our table; although he seemed a bit inexperienced at times, we appreciated his sincere, hardworking attitude. The next morning, we all enjoyed another bath and then had a delicious breakfast with a wide variety of dishes. We used the local bus both ways. On the way there, we took a bus that arrived about five minutes late due to rain from the nearby bus stop, but when it passed in front of the inn, the staff waved to us—everyone was truly touched. It was a warm and welcoming place to stay. Thank you very much.

Although the building looks old, the Hotel staff are extremely kind and attentive. I will stay here again when I visit Matsumoto.

They allowed us to check in early, which meant we could enjoy multiple baths and relax at our own pace.

It offers easy access to Matsumoto Station, and you won’t have trouble finding places to eat. It’s truly an easy-to-use Hotel. The only drawback was that the Wi-Fi didn’t reach the desk in the Room, which was inconvenient. I will stay again.

I used this hotel as a base for touring routes such as the Venus Line. It’s convenient, about an hour from Utsukushigahara. On the first floor of the annex right next to the main building, there is covered parking, and when the staff noticed I was on a motorcycle, they guided me there—something riders will really appreciate. The room and bath felt like a typical business hotel—neither particularly good nor bad. The covered parking alone makes the facilities top marks for me, though. Breakfast had a wide variety and was delicious. However, compared with another hotel I stayed at last week that offered an even lower rate plus seafood rice bowls, soba noodles, and curry from breakfast onward, I’m deducting one star.

I stayed in a twin Room, and I wish it had been a bit more spacious. Other than that, I was able to spend my time comfortably, so it was good.

A traditional ryokan renovated with a modern touch. The facility may not match the price perfectly, but the meals are absolutely delicious. Excellent value for money!
