I stayed here at the time while deployed for disaster relief after the Great East Japan Earthquake. This was my first stay again in 15 years.
Back then, the Room had no bath or toilet, and I used the shared bath on the first floor and the toilets on each floor.
Breakfast was simple but warm and homemade—rice balls, miso soup, a boiled egg, salad, and more.
There is also a large collection of manga on the first floor.
Nothing about these things had changed since then, and it filled me with nostalgia.
On the other hand, an AEON in Kamaishi has opened nearby, and I also enjoyed the convenience of being able to buy souvenirs such as Kamome no Tamago at Saito Confectionery inside AEON.
Depending on the guest, not having a bath or toilet in the Room may be a downside, but for me everything—including the hospitality—was perfect.
You took care of me back then, and you took care of me again this time as well.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all Hotel staff.
Thank you very much.
