My stay after four months was blessed with beautiful weather, and I was able to relax while taking in the breathtaking ocean views at the end of summer. The greatest charm of Umi no Shogetsu is the elegant time you can enjoy while staying in your Room. The sea stretches out beyond the window, and inside there is stylish furniture and a spacious layout—so you can soak in an open-air bath while admiring the spectacular view without ever leaving your Room. Meals are prepared in the dining area rather than served in-room, so after dining you can return to your Room right away and unwind in your own private space. If I want to be active—exploring or trying experiences—a City Hotel, or even a Business Hotel, feels functional and suits me. But when I want to truly savor time itself, I find myself wanting to visit Umi no Shogetsu. The monthly seasonal kaiseki crafted by the head chef is delicate and exceptionally delicious. I also appreciate the staff’s subtle warmth that never intrudes on privacy. The lovely flowers arranged throughout the property—sometimes charming, sometimes beautifully vibrant—are wonderful as well. Thank you always for everything.
